#1 Re: Guns N' Roses » Guns N Roses planning Summer '09 tour? » 791 weeks ago

Honestly, I can't even begin to understand this rationale that Axl and his karaoke band are high enough in demand that they warrant doing stadium tours. Where will this stadium touring take place? Certainly not the US. Not unless they are going to be opening up for a band who is relevant and in-demand in this day and age. Sorry, but low album sales, no popular singles, and arenas at 1/3 capacity DO NOT mean you start booking stadiums. Not gonna happen. Hell, I'd be surprised if Axl could even pull it together long enough to tour any venues these days.

Let's just hope Axl keeps this one buried. You can't top perfect.

His style of insults too, not just the views.

1) What is "bringadleback"?
2) if this is a person, no, I am not them.
3) If you are suggesting that I am this person because of insults, there are 3-4 others in this thread that quite possibly could be that person.

If everyone ignored the threads they disagreed with, all threads would just be full of 'I agree' posts. Perhaps that's what you were hoping for? It seems you can't deal with it that there are still people on a GNR fan site who want to hear more GNR music.

Bro, not at all. I'm all for folks posting what they are thinking. If you're really interested in the next Axl album, say it. If you're like me and aren't, just say it.

There are a shitload of people out there who think that this band cant become any more of a joke than it already is. If you're not one of these people, great. Especially for Axl. He can't affors to lose those last couple hundred fans. I just dont see why some have to have a heart attack over a question that, in my mind, is a very fair and valid thought. Especially considering just how un-popular this new GNR thing seems to be.

Oh, yeah. Well, I'm not gonna share my ball with you at recess.

If this is an uncensored forum, why shouldn't I be able to ask this question, regardless of what section I'm asking it in? To say you are uncensored, means just that - anything goes. Not anything goes as long as it doesn't make some folks whine like little bitches. Let's face it, I honestly believe if you were to poll mother earth, most would likely agree with what I'm saying. Especially considering the joke Axl and his band have become.

I care in the sense that this was once my favorite band, and I know Axl's potential. Concerning Axl's "more of the same - but darker" future albums, he can take those discs and bury them 6 ft under in his back yard. Releasing them to the public will only further taint the legacy of this once great band. Chinese D only sold just above 1/2 million in the US, and that was largely in part because of the mystique that surrounded it. Can you even imagine how emabrassing the numbers for this next should-be abortion would be?

Give it a rest, just because we treat our members with a little more respect than most forums and allow GNR related news that other communities would rather you didn't see, doesn't mean you have carte blanche to post any old crap and everybody just has to accept it. Did you really not expect to get a rise from people by asking on a GNR message board if people would care if Axl never did anything again?

I'm sure if you polled mother earth the majority wouldn't give a flying fuck about Axl, but as you're polling a GNR forum it changes things a touch. Every member here knows they can voice frustrations or praise at GNR should they feel the need. However just because other members happen not to feel quite as bitter towards GNR as you do, doesn't make them whiny little bitches.

A good discussion could probably be had if you voiced your frustrations towards GNR in a more constructive manner instead of this car crash of a thread.

O, wow. Sorry there, Roscoe. Put the pistol away, it ain't worth it. LOL.

As far as the "schtick", I honestly have no idea what some of you are talking about. I simply posed a question - one that seemed pretty fair - and some of you are wettin your diapers because of it. Resorting to personal attacks because you disagreed with my opinion? Wow. That's really mature of some of you. Don't agree or are uninterested in my post? Cool. No problem. Why not just stop reading it? Hell, ignore it. Some of you are really coming off as pansy ass bitches. You suggest that this forum is uncensored, and that all opinions are welcome, but I'm seeing that this is only true if you have your tongue super glued to Axl's scrotum. Sorry to the dude who had his feelings hurt over the word "abortion". Next time I'll say "a" word now that I know there are some sensitive folks in the crowd.  16

I meant to have my topic title say, Does anyone else "not" care if Axl just decides to stay in his mansion indefinitely.

I wouldn't consider him the biggest disappointment, only because most bands don't put out 4 albums of quality material + influence the genre the way he did. Bands like Metallica and Aerosmith have their "throw away" albums, but GNR has no "throw away" records (pre-cd), unless you count their cover album.

I agree with most of what you said. GN'R did put out 4 quality albums. In fact, they're all probably in my top 10 of all time. I'm just disappointed that Axl chose to release this latest piece of shit under the guns banner. It couldn't be further from being a guns album.

Well, excuse me. I'm sorry to have disappointed you. Now, on the topic of "fucking weak", let's get back to talking 'Chinese D' ....

I think Axl is the biggest waste of talent in the history of music. To lock himself away for 15 years or so and do nothing in the prime of his career is SO DISSAPOINTING. I think Axl should  ditch the Gn'R name. It's over. It's time to move on. He's tarnished the legacy and like GNRBABY I'd  consider supporting an Axl solo project as long as it were music for the sake of music. Not for carying the Gn'R torch which he obviously can't do. I have no interest in anything he has to say anymore. His interviews are weak and pathetic. having said all this I am interested in Axl Rose music.  I think he's talented and has the ability to create great things. I just wish he'd do it. Stop with the contempt for the old bandmembers, stop with the contempt for the fans, stop with the excuses and stop with the "poor me" attitude.  Just shut the fuck up write songs and sing. That or retire and spare us.

Atari I think this is a great topic cause I think it's the way alot of us feel to an extent.

And Bigbri I don't recall reading many of Otis Wstern's posts. 14 I guess I don't pay much attention anymore.

+1. My sentiments exactly. I knew I couldn't be the only GN'R fan who felt this way.

Over the last several months I've found my interest in Axl, or any further material of his, at an all time low. I think 'Chinese D' was a major disappointment. His recent interviews dissing the original lineup were pathetic, and his "expect more of the same, but darker", comments have made me realize that the I will never again be adding a new GNR album to my collection.

I can't help but to laugh every time I read one of these "stadium tour" rumors online. If I was Axl, I'd consider myself lucky to sell out a large club. Believe me, it pains me to feel this way considering GNR were once my favorite band. In all honesty, I think Axl could quite possibly be rock n roll's biggest disappointment.

Does anyone else feel this way?
