Huge loss, tough one to see go and especially when it didn't need be.  Excellent initial post you made concerning this tragedy James, it really hit home and was needed.  I was looking for something like this and knew you had a deep love of Soundgarden.  You didn't disappoint.

Great stuff Lofton, loved these vintage ads.

TIme for a blast from the past to fix the economical woes!

How did you like this movie James?

The first one was a VERY welcome addition to the horror genre for my tastes and I'm hoping (against hope) that lightning in a bottle might happen twice.

#4 Re: The Sunset Strip » RATT- Infestation » 730 weeks ago

"Hair Metal" is a far overused term invented by those that know very little about the music of the era.  Poison, Winger, Firehouse (etc etc) are NOT in the same ranks as vintage Crue, Ratt, Tesla and some other GOOD bands.  Pearcy sounds like NOONE else.

I enjoyed much music from this era and I despised much music from this era but labeling every rock act from the 80's as "hair metal" is a joke.

Ratt was one of the bands I liked from the 80's so I DID want to like this new album entitled "Infestation".  Unfortunately, unlike Axlin08, I CANNOT give it a good rating.

The songs are forced, poorly written and have no "punch" whatsoever.  The only exception would be the fairly good track "Take Me Home".

"Eat Me Up Alive" and "Best of Me" come close at times to recapturing yesteryear Ratt but ultimately end up sounding like a bunch of older guys trying to sound like youths again...it doesn't work.

The guitar work is solid and the vocals are there but the fun, youthful punch of Ratt is long gone if this album is any indication.

#5 Re: GN'R Downloads » Yesterdays (Drunk Fux '88) - GNR Unreleased Demo Archive Update » 730 weeks ago

Sorry for my recent absence guys, had alot of things I had to take care of and got behind.

One thing I got WAY behind on is this section so I will try and get back on track!  The songs that are NOT highlighted in either red or yellow on the list will be uploaded then several other songs will be added to the list.

As always if you have a request please let me know and I will do my best to add it as well.

Here's a few new links to the list:  (*some may have appeared prior but were lost when the site's database was updated awhile back)

Yesterdays (Drunk Fux '88)

Reckless Life (demo)

Mama Kin (demo - version 1)

Sad news, The Lost Boys and Silver Bullet are two of my all-time favorite "light" horror movies.

Haim had a really good personality and was one of those people you instantly liked.  So much more he could have did in his life had the drugs not "got there" first.

#8 Re: Guns N' Roses » How does Oh My God stand up to the CD material? » 737 weeks ago

Oh My God is to Chinese Democracy as to what My World was to UYI II.

I like some aspects of it (writing, energy) but the pieces just don't fit together in order to make a great song.

#9 Re: Guns N' Roses » TOP HIGHEST ATTENDED, non-festival, ticketed, concerts in U.S. » 752 weeks ago

So looks like basically only The Rolling Stones, U2 and Springsteen fans attend most concerts.

I can't believe the "Backdoor" boys are on the list.

I'm surprised not to see GNR on the list, I would have thought they would have easily been top 20.
