I'm guessing it's some kind of leak strategy via management also.

Sounds good indeed - is that Axl sampled and patched in there? I'm guessing he wasn't present at soundcheck...

It did sound like it was the demo vocal part, I'm dying to hear it live, I think is one of the songs he could still perform quite decently.

I used to think that older clip was just Slash/Richard jamming 3 chords, but listening again it does sound like an early part of Oklohoma kinda.

Be interesting if the general surfaced, didn't they use parts of it as an intro at one stage? Unless it's on the list for that reason.

The General was used as an intro on the 2006 and 2010 tours, confirmed by Fernando on Twitter in 2010. I don't think they will release a song that Axl can't perform live, and based on the cellphone party clip I think Axl would really struggle with this one.

Do you have the link to the party video by any chance?

Seems like we're getting something at last, hope they get the remaining left overs out.
It would be amazing if they wrote a couple from scratch and wrap up an album, but I think it's being to wishful

That is true, but I reckon with the right marketing strategy a new album could be very remunerative.
I really don't expect anything new, slash says he wants to make a whole new record but I don't see it ever happening, but they could effortlessly rework the village session into an album and make everybody happy.

I hope there is another Oh My God because the one we got is a mess. The verses are fantastic, about as good as anything GN'R ever did, and Axl sounds killer. Then comes the chorus and you go wtf? Just doesn't fit with the overall vibe of the song.

If they were to put it out, I don't think the actual chorus would change, it would receive  the hard skool treatment. But I agree, if the song had a better chorus it would be an absolute favourite.

Wasn't oh my god already officially released?
I know is not on Spotify or doesn't appear on any official GNR album but its on a soundtrack isn't it?

Axl never saw it as a "finished" release, the record company effectively jumped the gun, overruled him and pushed a demo out. IIRC they've rehearsed OMG on this tour, and it's one of the tracks that he was tinkering with all through the Chinese Democracy era.

And there's precedent for multiple versions of a track being released; the original release of Knockin' On Heaven's Door on the Days of Thunder soundtrack is subtly different from the version that ended up on Use Your Illusion II.

It actually makes sense and I have to say I'd be glad if that was the case.
I like the song as it is but it sure could use some polishing.
It would kind of suck tho cause it means we get the same thing twice while instead we could get something "new"

Realistically talking if we do get any song,is going to be one that was already recorded with vocals, so probably atlas perhaps and state of grace are good guesses.
I'd love to get me and my Elvis and the general.

It's curious what he might mean by "Epic" - does it mean they are long? Does it mean they are particularly good in his opinion compared to other songs? Does it mean they are grandiose ballads in nature like November Rain? Does it mean they are unusually structured for a song like Coma? Or does it just mean someone asked him about songs and he had to say something.

Maybe he means "epic" because of how much they are anticipated, like atlas shrugged almost gain legendary status among fans.
But honestly if it's the stuff left from Chinese democracy I can't see epic meaning anything else.

Good and bad news.

If it's only a handful of songs, what happened to "the album" he was talking about earlier? Maybe they decided only those were good enough for release.

I'm not sure what to expect from "Epic". Would love for it to be Oklahoma, but maybe Slash thinks "Perhaps" is epic idk.

I can't find Oklahoma anywhere, is it around?
