The handful of clips I’ve seen so far Axl just sounds horrible. Could be the songs I’m picking. Maybe there’s nothing that can be done about it but he just sounds like he’s never sung these songs before.
This has been beaten to death…but what is actually wrong? Is it just age?
This on top of everything else discussed in this thread from management incompetence to a strange schedule of dates (including Tinley Park lol) and the weird sporadic song releases with no follow through…i will likely pass when they come through my neck of the woods in 6 weeks.
Meh…
I watched this classically trained opera singer on YouTube, The Charismatic Voice, critique a live version of SCOM from the UYI days and she talked about how strained his voice was compared to a studio setting. That was 30+ years ago. Father Time is undefeated. I don’t think it’s lack of preparation or that he doesn’t care, it’s just the years catching up to him. It affects some more than others, but his style was certainly unique. He just can’t sing like he did in 1987 anymore. That’s the way it is

Finished the 94 playoffs. That Sonics-Nuggets series was insane...wish I hadn't went all these years without watching it again. The fact George Karl wasn't fired in the aftermath is mind blowing.
Too bad the Nuggets couldn't capitalize on the upset.
The Bulls-Knicks series was great...other than the fact the Bulls lost.
Knicks -Rockets finals was disappointing. Starks massively choking in that final game was unbelievable.
Decided to pause my rewatch of 95 to check out the current finals underway. DAMN....the game has really changed. It's like arcade basketball.... constant 3 pointers and the refs never call traveling, double dribble, or palming.
Hell...even centers play like point guards now! What happened?
This is why you shouldn't go 20 years not watching sports you enjoy.
Yeah, the NBA is insane now. I’m a Celtics fan and all they do is bomb 50 threes a game. If they make them they win by a bunch. If they miss them they lose and are a real tough frustrating watch. That’s how the game is played now though with analytics telling you shooting 3s is more efficient than 2s even if the % isn’t as high.
That’s why I like watching college basketball much more. The game has shifted there too but not nearly as extremely. Give me March Madness a million times over. The NBA playoffs drag on forever.
That being said, it looks like the Knicks have this one in the bag. They look like the more poised and overall better team. I never thought they’d have a chance against either SA or OKC, but they’re playing with so much confidence right now. Spurs need to show some life tonight or this one will be done in a few days.

Better video quality of “Nothin”. Sound is about the same, maybe a little clearer here

Audio quality wasn’t the greatest and I watched it on my phone but it sounds like both the band and Axl killed it with that debut performance. Sounded pretty damn close to the studio version.
I just don’t understand how this band operates. It seemed pretty obvious with the reaction “Nothing” got and initial chart success that it could’ve surpassed “Perhaps” if they put out another stock music video for it. But we got radio silence per usual instead. Why did they release a video for “Perhaps”, what made that different? It just doesn’t make much sense. It’d make more sense if they did nothing all the time. I remember that video dropping out of nowhere and the surprise and excitement over that. Seemed like strategy was changing. Now we’re back to minimal effort and doing just enough so they can continue touring and line their pockets with money.

For what? She doesn’t really do anything up there does she…?
Background vocals and keys. Not saying she’s irreplaceable, but let’s be fair. She’s been a part of the live show for the last 7 years? It could be a little adjustment.
I hope everything is alright with her. Vague reasoning for her not touring. She’s talented, even if the band doesn’t utilize her in a noticeable way. She’s obviously earned her way to where she is.

Pretty solid set list though with the two new songs, Dead Horse, DOTF, etc. I feel like at least those two haven’t been staples at most shows.

Yeah, Pats will have played 4 of the top 6 ranked defenses in the playoffs alone. That’s crazy. Luckily their defense is playing great since Milton Williams came back, especially stopping the run. Spillane went down in the 1st half against Denver though & hasn’t practiced at all this week. His absence would be significant. Pretty decent dropoff from him to Gibbens.
Seahawks are a pretty comfortable favorite, and deservedly so, but I’d expect a close game. Seattle probably does have the better roster and team overall, but it only matters who plays better on Gameday. Who can hold their emotions in check and avoid making big mistakes?
The one thing on the Patriots side is they have played great defenses the last 3 weeks so they should at least be ready to go to battle one more time and know what they’re in for. JSN is ridiculous, probably not going to shut him down but need to keep him in check. Darnold has come a long way since his Jets days, but he’s still prone to turn the ball over. Need to force him into some bad decisions.
On the flip side, Maye can turn the ball over quite a bit himself & he hasn’t been sharp this post season. He’s done enough to get this far, but he needs to be a lot better in this game.

The second half a complete shit show... especially the 4th quarter.
Complete domination by the Patriots in the 3rd quarter...Broncos had the ball for a grand total of one minute.
The 4th was dominated by the weather ...from cold but perfect weather to near blizzard conditions within minutes. Pat's had the advantage with the 10-7 score...which wound up being the final score.
This is why backup quarterbacks going on playoff runs/SB wins is such a rarity...just not enough experience in big games. Couple situations where he could've run through a hole that would fit a diesel truck but he hesitated and that idiotic throw on their final drive for an INT. No reason to go for it all on that one play.
They barely even tried getting their running game going. Why?!?
It's now official....the Vrabel/Maye era has begun....
Looks like we’re about to be on Drake Maye throwing shoulder watch for the next week and a half. He hasn’t been sharp this post season and I attributed that to playing better defenses and in some pretty tough weather conditions, but he apparently came into the Denver game with something going on with his shoulder & a hit he took late in the 3rd quarter made it worse. No doubt he’ll play in the Super Bowl, but everyone is going to look at those first few throws with a microscope to see how he’s holding up. It’s been a long season, 20 games so far. Lots of throws and lot of hits. One more game to go and lord knows the Seattle D is not going to make it easy on him.

Music videos for both songs to be released February 7th
I don’t see any mention of music videos for those songs, just that there’ll be a music video feature airing. Could be just airing the catalog of GNR videos. Unless I’m losing context in translation

I must have lost my appetite because I haven’t tried to hunt these songs down the last few days. Are they much different and worth listening to?
