Good band. The Holy Diver cover is a great current spin on the song. Hopefully there is more singing than screaming on this new album. I'm a fan of a few songs but don't really know the band all that well.

Oh they're a great band, easily one of my favorites. The weird thing is that Adam D, who plays guitar for the band, went to Berkley for recording and has produced/engineered all of their albums so far. I don't know why he's bringing someone else on this album, he hasn't done any wrong so far.

his health... he has SEVERE back problems
and probably name recognition...i'm already scared about what the new mastodon record is gonna sound like.... but if y'all remember, that's why zakk wylde hired Michael Beinhorn. Roadrunner wanted him to get a "name" producer, even though he had produced all the previous BLS records. the killswitch guys prolly heard he was doing the mastodon record  and figured "why not"...
these bands are on the cusp of something, and their labels are prolly pushing them to appeal to a wider audience. B O' B has a mainstream track record...

that's why i give huge props to lamb of god, who, after their last record sort of went for the full on pantera tribute, are apparently not giving a shit who RR wants to produce their record, and went with Josh Wilbur.... the guy who engineered the drums and guitars on sacrament and a guy i went to high school with in maine...

I was definitely burnt out on it although I never really listened to the leaks a ton with the exception of Better. I got caught up in the moment leading up to its release and I think that lead my review to be more positive than I'd write right now, but I only listened to it for 2 days before putting it down. I've only listened to it about 5 times since.

I do think the overall tone of the fanbase wouldn't be as negative because we'd be focusing more on the excitement of brand new songs rather than the lack of promotion.

we also would have been listening to the record with a "clean pallete", so to speak, if the whole thing had been new to us...
sure the promotion thing sucks.. but i think either positively or negatively comparing the songs to leaks really crudded up our initial perspective of it...
