i think we're all a little confused at this point

#1004 Re: Guns N' Roses » What affect did the leaks have on you? » 900 weeks ago

i bought it nov 23rd... put it in my car's cd player in the parking lot.. and haven't removed it since....that doesn't mean i'm always listening to it.. but i really haven't gotten REALLY sick of it yet.... that's a good sign.. usually by now i'd be ready to eject it and toss it out the fucking window..

#1005 Re: Guns N' Roses » What affect did the leaks have on you? » 900 weeks ago

it factored heavily for me....
i DL'd Death Magnetic a week before it came out... i LOVED it... but by the time it was actually released, i had listened to it sooo much.. i grew tired of it and the songs didn't seem as great...i put it away for a month.. now it's fresh to me again...
CD is a whole different level.. because some of the songs have been in HEAVY rotation in my car for YEARS...that initial excited magic is LONG gone.. i just try to remember how i first felt when i heard the songs.. and how much i loved them... that's enough for me. they were fucked with... and while they may be better or worse than before.. i'm sure we can all think really hard.. remember the first time?
wasn't it awesome?
the officially released chinese democracy to me is a glorified remix album of material i've loved for a loooong time...some good ... some bad... some great.. some shitty....but in the end, the reason we're all here.. was the journey.. i still have all the old leaks ... and i listen to them....just like i always have...
and it's still not over.. there's more material waiting to be heard and i think that once BB has sold every copy that they bought... we'll get the proper release with all the artwork that axl was talking about... and maybe it'll be a double album... who knows... but the excitement is still strong for me. and i look forward to DL'ing new shit so i can bitch about how it's different than the final product to you guys on GNR Evo.....

kinda off the point of the convo...
but in BB, at the end.. when gordon says "i didn't thank you".. and batman says "and you'll NEVER have to".....
THAT"S BATMAN.... i still get goosebumps...
ok..
nerd moment over...
proceed..

Was sick for a couple days, and basically had a huge marathon of this show. Finished season 4 earlier today. This series does get consistently worse as it goes on. I'm tired of these subplots that go nowhere. That has plagued the show since the beginning, but with the quality dropping you tend to notice it more now. The relationship between Tony and his doctor could have been taken to a new level with the rape, but after one episode that was swept under the rug. Junior's trial was a snooze fest. I'd rather that season be condensed instead of dragging it out with that drivel. The horse subplot was interesting...until you realize it was just put in there as an excuse to kill Ralph. He already had a trillion reasons to kill him, so why was that the breaking point?

The Carmine/Johnny Sac angle is boring. It just goes around in circles with no conclusion. One of the highlights of season 4 was Furio and Carmela and how that helped put a strain on her relationship with Tony. They just split up though not long after Furio went AWOL, and I'm already wondering how that is going to affect the quality of the show as its obvious this is going to be a long term separation.

This might be my dick talking, but the Meadow Soprano character is criminally underused. They blew an opportunity early in the series with the drug thing, and am I the only one that sees endless possibilities with a mob chick in college? They totally ignore her except when she's dating someone or a member of the family stops by.

you hit the nail right on the head...
myself... i just kept thinking "ok.. this is somehow gonna play out somewhere down the line"... all of it...  like the "pine barrens" episode.... but it never did...the russian guy was gone forever... now i think..."what the fuck?"....marchand's death was, in hindsight, the death of a good show. at that point it became a shitty m. night shaymalan movie... you keep waiting for "the twist" that never comes...
still.. based on the first 2 seasons alone, it's among my top favorite shows ever

tejastech08.... if it wasn't for THAT scene.. i would agree with you guys...
that scene where he interrogates flass is the essence of batman.. using fear...
keaton didn't really have to change his voice because a. that bruce wayne was a loner and pretty much outta the spotlight and b. batman in the burton films was pretty much a mute... using implied fear, rather than outright scaring the shit outta people.. and when he did talk, it was a mumble/whisper....
sure the voice is annoying, but it could have been MUCH worse.....

TDK is the best, by far.

I disagree. I think it's a toss-up between B89, BB, and TDK. Batman Returns is the weakest of the bunch although I do love it. But that is the only one I'm willing to say is definitely weaker than the other 3. B89 is the reason I'm a Batman fan. I saw it as a 3 year old in the theater and have seen it probably over 1000 times in my life (grew up watching it pretty much every day on VHS). I love Nolan's movies, but they aren't perfect and neither are Burton's. But those three are the best and I really don't distinguish between them. Keaton was a better Batman than Bale. Bale is a better Wayne than Keaton. Ledger was definitely a much better Joker than Nicholson and I'm glad Nolan didn't kill off the character, which is one of Burton's biggest blunders in his two films. Nolan's biggest blunders would be the microwave emitter, sonar, and casting Katie Holmes.

HAHA.. the VHS was on HEAVY rotation in my room with me and my brother...
before cable.. i watched that movie twice a day... every day...
iit's the reason i know EVERY joker "line" in that whole movie by heart...
and-
you must remember from the vhs:
"You can't watch a warner brothers movie, without a warner brothers ball cap!"
"No! i said NECK TIES"
