i still believe that the chinese democracy thing is a long term, multi album plan....
what the hell are people gonna say about the 10+ year wait etc. when another 12-14 track volume 2 ends up on the shelves in less than a year?
"uh- oh.. maybe we were wrong about axl... maybe he DIDN'T spend all that time working on just 14 songs..."
then maybe... just maybe the naysayers won't be so quick to judge the record(s) on the time/money alone.
wouldn't it be easier to just stay on tour for the next few years putting out an album every year?

i was a huge fan of CB when it came out.. still am.
i was a huge fan of stp as well... so take that for what it is... the songs are great..it's exactly what i expected. i hold CD closer to my heart cuz of the drama involved.. and i almost always gave axl the edge over slash. i was kinda bummed out that the material that they wrote with izzy was pretty much scrapped.. (save "do it for the kids/bomb")..and some of the songs BEGGED for axl..( "big machine" )... 7/10
libertad was another story altogether...some interesting, catchy stuff.. but too fucking quirky for it's own good.. while contraband was clearly GNR territory musically ... libertad had no distinguising features.. it was like they tried to "forge their own sound" and ended up making a sexed up "shangri la-dee-da" it's not a bad record.. i just expected much more...5/10( and that's being generous bacause i like the musicians involved)

they can spin it any way they want.. but the only reason bands like guns n' roses, the eagles, the police and kiss "reunite" is money.. plain and simple. axl's making the music he wants to make, so why on earth would he even entertain the idea of a reunion?
and by no means am i suggesting that slash and duff would be more likely to want a reunion.. they ALL have plenty of goddamn money.
if chinese democracy doesn't do well... the pressure from all sides will be tremendous...."do it..do it.. do it!"
my opinion is that axl would be less inclined to cave into the pressure of reunion chants. axl fits more into the kind of music that slash and duff are playing these days than the other way around...it would be alot less of an artistic compromise for them...

What's so funny about it. That album was actually pretty good but it wasn't Motley Crue withouth Vince. The fan kenw it and the band eventually figured it out. Motley Crue's album without Vince is alot better than anything VR has done in my opinion. VR benifited from an era where the musical "competition" wasn't nearly as stiff. MOtley Crue's self titled album is actually pretty good.
it's very good.. it didn't sell... so motley lost their balls and crawled back to vince...

when your last album was a relative flop.. you can't wait 15 years to drop the next one and expect it to sell like the cure for fucking cancer...
there was no buzz,aside from the fucking fan boys/girls...
not only have they dropped the promo ball... they fucked up a perfect scenario 6 years ago. the spin cover... gnr on everyone's lips after the vma's... there was a massive buzz and they pissed it away... oh well. it could be worse.
