Yeah well said Cramer, that sums it up nicely.
MyGNR was a main source for news and updates as well for fans, and also for the media. So many fans posted stories that were soon after taken up by the online music media and it spread across the web, for good or bad.
Now HTGTH is the only big site left and the fact it is so heavily endorsed by GNR, it will probably be the one to pull in the new online fans and be the go to site for lazy journalists looking for a quick story. The fact it has such skewed and deceitful agenda now wont be so transparent to new users and thats a real shame.

It was MyGNR that turned me on to new GNR, thats where I first heard the bootlegs of the 01/01/01 show. I was living away at college and the weekends were always dead, people partied during the week and went home at weekends. I used to go up to the library on a friday night and listen to the new Guns N Roses songs online, it was amazing and the whole 01/01 show was fantastic and thats what got me sucked it... and when I finally heard Madagascar from Rio - Fuck me, I was sucked in hook line and sinker!
Its a sad day the website has shut up shop, it used to be great. What it became was an embarressment, too much garbage be spouted by idiots and made the site unreadable. I'll say this for jarmo, he runs a tight ship and has almost zero trolls.
From what I gather mygnr had multiple trolls in the end from that gnfnrs.com site who were banned and intentionally spamming the site. They will think the cows have come home but theres not a herd of wild horses would make me sign up, its as much garbage as the dregs of mygnr was.

Jarmo wasnt a spineless servile minion till bout 2005/6, then for some reason he spun on a dime and took up the persona he has now. Thats why so many people loath him, he turned coat over night and suddenly was rubbing shoulders with *cough, "the GNR camp."
Fuck him anyway he's a tool of epic proportions, he's one of the most loathsome creatures to ever emerge in this modern era of GNR.
I'm bored shitless with it and this so called "camp." If Axl wasnt a millionaire they wouldnt give a shit about him, its a sad state of affairs that the Fernandos and Betas and fucking jarmos of the world have more clout in GNR than the band members.
Its new music or bust for me, this song and dance we have all been led on throughout the last 10 years has been completely aimless and underwhelming and pretty god damn boring. Theres only so much time someone can spend on such a fruitless endevour, everyones bored shitless with it and I'm not really suprised Eric has called time, he is a grown man with better things to do. I'm sure what started about a labour of love and fun, mutated into what mygnr became today... a sorry cesspit of mindless resentment and pointless playground bickering.
No wonder he woke up one day and thought.." Fuck This Shit."

Buckethead has a shitload of great songs, but they are buried amongst countless albums and releases of some pretty weird stuff. Its fun sleuthing your through them though, there has been quite a few songs I've stumbled across thats just blown me away. I'd be pretty lost without this forum to help stear the search right enough.
Funny I was thinking the other day how awesome it would be if Slash was to release an instrumental album, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Everything thats disapointed me about Slash's post GNR work stems from shitty singers and shitty lyrics.

"Rolling" In The Deep, has got to to have some relevance to The Rolling Stones. That song has such a Gimmie Shelter vibe
#1066 Re: The Sunset Strip » Adele Discussion » 813 weeks ago
As for Adele... John I really have missed this latest "sensation", I honestly dont have a clue about pop culture, My sony minidisc player is packing in and I think its time for one of these ipod things... and I'm stumped cause there are so many different versions and I'm not even familiar with the first...
But fuck me, thats what you call a hit single
What a voice, fantastic lyrics, incredible melodies - it has it all. I cant stop listening to it, to me it sounds like a "Gimmie Shelter" level of hit single... it will last forever

"computer issues"? Is that code for speed lol
Well I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed he was AWOL, I was starting to wonder just how mad I was and if new GNR really really really sucked so bad that he didnt want anything to do with his site
#1068 Re: The Sunset Strip » Adele Discussion » 813 weeks ago
I heard this today on the radio for the first time and it blew me away, what a tune!
I had to do some sleuthing when I got home to try figure out who sung it, wow that girl can sing!
I totally boycott pop culture and saturday night tv etc, so this passed me by, I thought I'd type her name in to the search engine to see if she has been getting spoke about. I thought James would be all over it, where the hell is he anyway??
#1069 Re: The Garden » the price of gasoline sucks! » 813 weeks ago
£1.40 a litre here, thats $1.65 a litre USD.
Thats $6.25 a US Gallon! (I've just learned that US gallons are different to ours, weird!)
Our fuel is taxed to fuck and its steadily and rapidly getting higher, in the next couple of years I think we'll be looking at £2 a litre. That will put me out of business, I'm a gardener and theres only so much people will be willing to fork out on the luxury of having a gardener.
At the moment I'm really struggling, I'm going to have to put up my rates again to cover the fuel I'm going through and people are already grumbling at my bills. The future is looking bleak and I'm thinking I should mabye be looking at going back to full time work with a company.

All I own from Slash post GNR is the Snakepit albums, I thought they were ok, but havnt really listened to them since around the time they first came out.
Scott was the weak link in VR for me, I thought his voice was fine but his lyrics were terrible and completely turned me off the band, musically I thought it was pretty good though.
Slash and Freinds was alright as well, I think it has Slash's best work on it post GNR. Theres a few songs I think are pretty cool and a few clunkers, I cant bare the Fergie song, its god awful. The one with Lemmy is f'n sweet though
The biggest problem with CD is the way its mixed, its too inconsistant throughout and occasionaly there are real WTF moments. Overall though theres no hiding that the vocals and musicanship are excellent.
Roll on another album, and as far as I'm concerned the more far out and experimental, and unlike old GNR, the better.
