Its only available by import through Amazon in England, thus the £13.49 + postage price tag.
I think I'll wait until I can find it for £8-10.
#1142 Re: Guns N' Roses » Another theory as to why the the ball is in the record company's hands » 920 weeks ago
I don't think its in the record company's hands. I think they may have heard it (or them) but they don't have the masters because Axl is negotiating. I think if it was with the record company, we'd have heard lots more rumours by now. You know the old phrase 'there's no smoke without fire' well we're not seeing, hearing or even smelling any smoke at this point. I hope I'm wrong though, I think if this carries on into late 08 people will lose interest. I bet now the number of posters at HTGTH and MYGNR has rapidly declined.

Just like to say how fucking awesome Porcupine Tree were at the London Forum last night.
If you haven't already, check out 'Fear of a Blank Planet', 'Deadwing' or 'In Absentia'.

Just because they aren't booking gigs doesn't mean that they're seriously about releasing this album. They weren't booking gigs in 2003, 2004, and 2005, and now here we are just a couple months from 2008, still with no release date. Hell, they even cancelled gigs a year ago just so they could get the album out.
The fact that there has been no new leaks is a good indication that this album HAS NOT been mixed and mastered yet. I hate to say it, but I believe we are a looooong ways away from seeing this album surface.
Hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

Fair point. I think you can go round and round and round with GN'R and not get anywhere
Does anyone know whats really going on?

I don't think the masters are with the record company, but I do think that they are due to make the next move.

#1146 Re: Guns N' Roses » Baz now claims 4 GNR albums exist » 921 weeks ago
Oh...just thought now..Another reason Baz might be saying the same stuff about
same reason my friends tell me about the tits and ass of every girl they nail - every time - every girl
thats an interesting analogy you got going there!
Two things that interest me
1. Its coincidental that he's mentioning songs we already know track names of (besides 'Sorry'). Can he please mention some more we've not heard of or we're not sure actually exist? Note when he said that ' The General' was part of a triology, he wouldn't mention which other songs that were part of the triology. If I was an interviewer I'd asking what he thought of Ryiad, Atlas Shrugged, Cock a roach soup or something see what he really knows
2. Why does he have to lead everything he says about CD with 'I asked Axl if I could mention such and such'. Can't he just ask Axl if he can give us a detailed breakdown of all four albums? It makes me think that Axl is drip feeding him stuff to say
Call me a cynic, but I think there's more to Axl appearing on Angel Down that simply helping out a friend. Note 'The timing couldn't be better'.
My analogy is this:
Axl is Brain. He has a plan to take over the world. But can't quite pull it off.
Bach is Pinky. Absolutely bonkers. Brain keeps trying to manipulate Pinky to help him with his plan, but a lot of the time Pinky fucks up.
Or something like that!

Jameslofton wrote:Jimmy Zig Zag Bobiadis wrote:if not for Baz we wouldn't these new songs with Axl singing on them and he's really given us a lot of info lately. I think he kicks ass for it.
I'm not downing him because of the Axl tracks. He just has a tendency to take swipes at VR when the opportunity presents itself and its really lame.
He has to be the only person who insults a band he had intentions of joining. I understand there might be some animosity over their decision to pick Weiland(and Slash's remark years ago about not wanting to sound "dated", which was obviously directed at Bach), but there comes a point when things like that should remain private.
I don't get that either. For example; Slash tried out for Poison once, as lame as they are you don't see him taking swipes at them whenever he can.
In all fairness he probably doesn't want to remind people that he did in fact audition for Poison!
#1148 Re: Guns N' Roses » Lay Your Cards on the Line » 922 weeks ago
One album every six months for two years. Plus lots of touring and promotion.
Then the original band can get back together. Then, in a bizarre 'Heaven and Hell' scenario, the new gnr reunite. Cool!
#1149 Re: Guns N' Roses » The Reason Behind The Delay Of "Chinese Democracy"....? » 922 weeks ago
I recall one of the Rock In Rio's where Axl dragged Beta onto stage and made this long speech about how much she helped him out, including with contracts and 'what a pain in the arse he could be about that'
Call me naive but I'm willing to believe the record is finished, but Axl is being a Diva and demanding all manner of things that the record company won't give into. Or, as someone else alluded to, they want to see some decent management behind the band before pushing ahead. I'm willing to bet that Beta and Del don't instill the greatest confidence in the execs who will want to make sure that the band make every effort to promote the record. You know, interviews and stuff, like Sebastian.
Ultimately though, for both sides there's $ involved and that alone probably means they'll reach a compromise at one point.

I'll be waiting outside the store on the morning CD is finally released. In fact, if they do release it, I'll even organise an queue with my friends just for nostalgia's sake! Queuing in line starts now!
I have only heard the radio version of BITS. I might buy the album just to give Baz a fair run. I like people that make an effort.
