"Robin does a really great Stevie Ray Vaughan -type solo on one track." (Axl, Spinner, 02/27/09)
Which he recorded in 2007, at the very latest.

I mean it's literally NO point to climbing a mountain. It accomplishes nothing.
I guess you and I just have to agree to disagree here.
To me, mountains are beautiful, and the ascent a spiritual undertaking. It's about reminding oneself how puny one is in the grand scheme of things, how fleeting our time on this rock is.
The sensation of being on a mountaintop on a full moon, with clouds hurling literally around you is something I could never hope to fully relate.
It's another world up there, and you only know it if you know it.

Fundamentally,
The function of art is to highlight things in society.
If one has a problem with an artwork, censoring it won't remove the problem.
It only tells a lot about society and its inability to tackle the underlying issue.

Am I the only one who is irritated by seeing Beta on stage chumming it up with Bumblefoot?
Nothing Beta has ever done in her position regarding the band has irritated me more as a fan than
her Margaret Thatcher pose, "No More Managers".

14 Years with Izzy. Listen to what Axl Says at the very end "Ladies and gentlemen, Mr Izzy Stradlin... fresh from the hall of shame"
I guess Axl has been visiting the gnrevo boards again...
That performance is just so right in so many ways.
One can tell that Izzy likes being there and Axl really likes Izzy being there.
Gotta love the 4:15 mark, where Iz gets a bit carried away and accidentally unplugs his geetar. He's looking a bit lost towards the soundmen, who arrive in a matter of seconds
Would love to see Izzy writing songs for these guys.... and dream on.
Also, I never really got the RRHOF bit with Izzy. To me, it was simple. He goes, bye-bye Axl.
I wager the other guys will always talk to Izzy, with or without the conundrum.

RussTCB wrote:It would appear I was wrong:
Here's what happened: Tommy put his bass on her and left the stage. She kept looking back for Tommy, motioning for him to come back, but he didn't. DJ put his guitar around her back and grabbed a camera and filmed Beta. It was just a fun practical joke that lasted a couple of minutes. She wasn't really playing.
A practical joke at the expense of 'management'.
I don't see why anyone should feel outrage, as it can be read as band members showing Team Brazil what it really means to be in a band, instead of parading around ilke you're in the band.
One can read it both of ways, which is well enough.

Hagman's turn in Oliver Stone's Nixon is one of the high points of his career to me. Too bad it's so overlooked.

I can leave an idea in a corner for six months or a year before returning there, I created a kind of musical bank for myself where I can draw ideas according to my desires or my inspiration.
Who else works this way?
