I would tend to agree....it could be another "test the waters" deal.
Yeah, but they wouldn't need to test the waters by releasing a new single without planning on releasing the album. This isn't a commercial they're lending a song to. This is pretty much the new way of releasing music outside radio. And if they wanted to test the waters they had 9 other songs to do it with when they leaked.
I'm telling you, all signs point to this being very close.

reason i ask, i wasnt around the boards back then
OH MY GOD came out of nowhere. I'm not even sure the album was named Chinese Democracy then. Hell, only Tommy and Dizzy were the only real band members to even play on it.
Also, it was just a demo

I don't think there would be any reason to put a new 'unheard' song out, if the album
wasn't imminent.

Yeah, Corabi isn't too much of a throw back. Just a notch above Baz

FIRST
Why would they want a reunion? The guys involved are FILTHY RICH. So there is no money
needs here. Plus, you know, they still have their own things going on.
SECOND
After what they went through with Scott, with one of the main complaints being that he was
too much like Axl, what has Axl showed you in these last six years that he is any different
than he used to be? How would that be appealing to them?
THIRD
There would be no album. Period. The most you'd get from a reunion is maybe a few shows
or a set at the Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame, because...
FORTH
Izzy would not tour. He would not be able to put up with Axl on the road or recording. And
more importantly, with no Izzy, there would be NO REAL REUNION.
FIFTH
As I said before, if Axl had to abandon what he's done with this band it would be an admission
of failure, and he would spite himself and never sing again before he admitted he couldn't make
it with his band and his vision.
So, no, it wouldn't be as easy as giving Duff and Slash part of the name again. That in itself is
an impossibility.

...or that its still just 13 tracks

GNR could always do a small venue tour and wait for a festival to (co)headline, which
would be smarter with the actual release of CD to expose the music to more people.
Supporting the album, tour wise, should be done different than past Chinese Democracy
tours.

didn't axl blame BH for cancelling shows in 04?
Sure, if you believe Axl's side. Actually, wasn't the rumor that he had a stomach ailment? Perhaps the song "Day of the Ulcer" off his album "Somewhere Over the Slaughterhouse" explains it? If you're sick, you're sick, but he doesn't cancel shit like Axl does.
I don't remember any solo shows being canceled at all.
The Buckethead stomach virus excuse was about the 2001 European tour that
didn't happen. And Axl let it slip that it was a lie when he said he cancled it because
he didn't know he had an up-coming tour until he read it on the net and he wasn't
ready for a tour yet.

I don't want a rehash of the old line up.
The only thing that their work since the breakup has proved is that
the're not even in the same universe, musically speaking. I'm way
more interested in what Axl has in his vault right now than what these
guys could do together now. Maybe some of you'll get lucky and that
Lost GNR album will get leaked one day. Until then, what they've shown
since breaking up, to answer a question, is VR can be a platinum selling
band and Axl could release jack shit and still hold peoples attention on
his own for 15 years. They don't need each other.
And I'm sure as hell not going to judge VR, if Royston is the new lead
singer, on a jam on a youtube video. If we all did that, no one would've
been a GNR/AXL fan after the 2002 VMA's.

I think the other track mentioned the most as likely to be on CD was
IDES OF MARCH.
Don't remember any description of it, though.
