Dust in the Wind is currently up, and it's time for another vote. I got a few new suggestions this week - keep em coming!

Even with the scratchy audio, that was a great version of Civil War. Love how the guitars and drums come in before the first "my hands are tied" part of the song. Sweet fucking punch.

Black Hole Sun, along with its video, is a whole nother can of worms with any sort of psychedelics in the mix. Truth.

Gary really never had a chance, but he did a great job. No fault of his, it was just the climate of the time + the usual VH dysfunction I'm sure.

Hadn't heard of it but looks awesome. Wish it was coming out for the 360.

And with that, we're back to my idea of a short run summer reality show where bands with contested lineups go head to head, and let the fans decide. Loser hangs it up. Hilarious and entertaining.

I haven't read the books, and for that I'm glad. I may read them someday, but after that last episode I don't want to know a single fucking thing before it unfolds on screen. Fantastic episode, fantastic season!

The acting is so great - of course I'm terrible with/lazy about looking up actor's names, but... King Frey is such an awesome evil king. The wedding scene was enormously unexpected, yet at the same time every scene leading up to it was full of tension and threat of violence breaking out.

Still loving every story line. Love fat guy, the baby, and the White Walkers is entertaining. Watching Jora(?) get smashed by the friend-zone wall after sacking the city with the new hunk cracked me up. I think the big lug with the burnt face is gonna end up redeeming his character, either beginning in the next (and last) episode, or over the course of next season.

It suffers by the lyrics mostly. Sounds like Ozzy recycling phrases and easy rhymes.

Speaking of which,

According to Geezer there was an eleventh hour reshuffle in terms of the lyrics. Why?

Rick Rubin: Ozzy wasn't happy from the beginning with the lyrics he had, and historically Geezer always wrote the lyrics on the Black Sabbath albums. It was as much a combination of Ozzy not being happy with the lyrics and Geezer having so much to offer lyrically. He wrote amazing lyrics on the album. It really was a mutual decision. It wasn't me saying, These lyrics are shit, it was Ozzy saying 'I don't like these lyrics, we need to get Geezer to write some more'.

Really interesting. I still think a lot of God Is Dead sounds like Ozzy lyrics, but I'm glad GZR wrote for this album! Preordered the deluxe version today.
