#1221 Re: Guns N' Roses » "Better" Video Discussion » 713 weeks ago
But we all flock to it because we're not supposed to see it! Same as with every other leak through the years. I guess that's the reason for the fuzz!
Obviously, the reception would've generally been more favorable if it would've been released on schedule in December 2008.
Having said that, I do find it a bit... how'd I put it? Spotty editing at points, the live band visuals not quite corresponding with the feel of the soundtrack. So to me, the video on itself doesn't qualify as a home-run.
This is an opinion I believe I would've held also in Dec '08, despite being pleased the band would put up the effort to promote themselves. Seeing the video, I'm twice let down by it - by itself and by the non-release.
Still, interesting to see, glad they did plan to familiarize the band, including Bucket.

^Thanks.
After seeing the damn thing, my only question is, 'What's all the fuss about?'
Glad to see Bucket represented there so prominently. Other than that, a rather lukewarm effort from a band with GNR's stature.

can't see it anywhere...
Neither can I.
Let's all toe the official line and pretend it never happened.

They did manage the band (before calling themselves Team Brazil) during the interim of Merck (Dec '06) and Azoff (early '08). The band toured in Australia and Japan during that period and, right, Axl supposedly finished CD.

From VR:
"And I'm rather sore that Nightwish isn't touring the US until 10 months after releasing their album while going to places like Russia first."
Tut, tut. Russia's next door to them, as opposed to the US, which is a risky market for most Euro bands, as opposed to the Old World.

But we can't really sell toys with links to slavery.
Not with them being put together in Oriental sweatshops.

Wasn't his original ambition to do a solo album with Reznor and Dave Grohl?
I’ve talked to Trent about working with me on an industrial synth project, at least on one song... - Axl, Hit Parader, 93

That's the one.
"We decided, 'No more managers,'" said Lebeis a few days after the Seattle concert. "Between me and Fernando and my daughter, we're dealing with the management." Lebeis added that she characterizes Rose as "more than a son to me," and that after Katsis' departure, "I told [Rose] if he hires another manager, I quit." - LA Times

Obviously a few glitches along the way, but they're new to the game and they're putting forth the effort, which is good to see.
Beta's been around long enough to know the ropes, and GNR is too big a business to be used to 'rehearse' your way into the management industry.
I like the most recent efforts, but don't cut them that 'new kids' slack. They did essentially blackmail Axl to give in and appoint Team Brazil.
