People call Matt an asshole but he was on record a while back as saying he wouldn't do the reunion if asked unless he could share the role with Adler.
I think that's the kindest thing i've read out of ANY member of GNR.
If you go back and look at the rest of them, and I say this as a fan, it's a series of self absorbed and self interested decisions every time.
It's a noble thing to say. But his passive-aggressive twitter posts the last couple days could be interpreted as a guy who feels like he should have been on this tour.
But who knows, maybe he would have turned it down if Steven wasn't going to be involved.

slash and duff pushed hard for matt. axl wasn't going to budge.
even if you set aside any sort of grudge over comments made publicly, axl has always been very loyal to his bandmates as long as they've been loyal to him and he just wasn't going to cast frank aside when frank has done everything asked and been a good soldier.
Also, adding Matt into the mix is adding one of Slash and Duff's guys. On a long tour, could end up like UYI all over again with it being Axl vs the band.
Frank is Axl's guy. And neutral on the Matt vs Steven argument.

I went with the unpopular choice, but in my opinion Robin's studio version is the best so far.
With that said, I certainly am not going to complain about the way Slash plays it.
I do believe if Slash stayed a little more true to what was recorded, he could potentially do something even greater with it.

Yea Pitman's dismissal is a big mystery. Dude seems super loyal to Axl and his later versions of GnR.. Axl held steady of keeping Richard and Frank..

I think we've just been looking at it wrong. They had a drummer. They basically had duff. They needed a guitar player and they got the most qualified one for the job. If they need a drummer at some point or they have an actual reunion, then we can see what's going to happen.

Its the 2014 lineup with Slash replacing DJ/Ron and Melissa replacing Chris.
Axl has been very careful to not call this a reunion. GnR has always been around on some level with various members, and this is simply the latest lineup.

I'm absolutely loving what was done with CD, from Slash's tone and solos to Duff's backing vocals. A+ shit right there.
I was at 4/8 and wasn't overly impressed with the TIL solo.. but watching that 4/9 clip, definitely better than the first night. I still wish it was a little more true to the original.
Better - I think the song is improved as a whole, but I do miss Robin's solo there. But the overall changes to the song make it better, so no complaints.
I think CD and Better on a future "Best of" release could be re-recorded with Slash and Duff.. lets them put their stamp on those songs officially.

Yep.. 35 years old here and I sat the majority of the show from the seats. Still the best show I've ever seen.

Maybe I chose the wrong night, but no regrets getting to see the best show of my life.
Looking at PHX or SD this summer.
