I will always call it a tragedy that the 2006 Axl didn't debut with that 2002 band. If he would have just waited and finished the album instead of going out on tour, this could be a different story.

Axl was contractually obligated to tour in 2002.

The album was supposed to come out in 2001-2, and Sanctuary lured ClearChannel in to promote a comeback tour in the US.

How to solve all your issues and move on.

Band 1: Guns N' Roses

A group consisting of, but not limited to, Axl, Slash and Duff.

A band whose album discography extends from AFD to CD.

Band 2: GNR

A group consisting of, but not limited to, the current touring lineup of Guns N' Roses.

A band whose album discography opens with a self-titled album including, but not limited to, tracks from the CD sessions.

I'm not suggesting Band 1 (Guns N' Roses) would ever play live or release an album despite the arrangement, by the way.

It would simply be Axl benefiting from the band name indirectly (and fairly, given he owns the name), and keeping his current work separate from his work with the old band.

Would you support a band named GNR as a sort of continuation band to Guns N' Roses?

This version of IRS has so much funk, texture and feeling.

It sounds like a band, meaning people in a room writing and recording, instead of having the umpteenth guitarist come in and record a part in a noticeably differing sound quality. Since there's no Bucket, I'd imagine people playing here include Josh Freese and Paul Huge. Tommy and Josh go so well together it's a crime they never played live with the lineup, let alone release an album.

If I wanted to play his game I would've posted that in the MyGNR thread, not this one.  I was responding to Russ, not "UMG rep".  I deliberately did not post that in the MyGNR thread.

Ali

Don't worry.

Russ invited him over to Evo and specifically asked Evo members to post in the Evo thread as opposed to a MyGNR thread, or any other.

James, you really should come down more often to wave goodbye.

When you do, a new leak and a remix of a craggy-quality old song jump right at you. 16

That's nice.

I prefer it over Blood in the Water, so far 16

Forgive me for sounding vague.

Meant to write along the lines of:

Back in December, Axl was still very aloof about doing anything aside touring and dealing with the label. The scant reports suggested some band members had done bits and pieces down the line, and the full band was set to assemble to record first after this tour leg and then after that one. Always pushing it further.

When Ax says they're recording with a full band, I can believe it. His release schedules are a completely different ballgame, tho.
