They've already started working on the new record.
Well, they haven't been continuing much as of late.
#1302 Re: Guns N' Roses » When's Album? » 732 weeks ago
And here we go,
Ax wants the label issue done before committing to the music.
Ax says new music can be released very soon after things are kosher with the label again.
Making new music gets delayed beyond RRHOF (take your pick - Ax's head not there, label deal still in the air)
Post-RRHOF, Tommy insinuates studio work is pretty much ready to commence.
If the label deal is done, it's all about how much time Ax is ready to take this time around.

Anyways, cut the shit and straight to the answer.
All ears.
This was not Ground Ctrl's fault
Right.
they solely received the package from our Merchandise Company and assumed it was correct.
The merch company sent out the wrong package? Understandable, as it's not their job to evaluate whether to send out an AFD shirt or not.
Fernando,
whose job is it to doublecheck the merch company sends out the right packages?
sorry that I am not as active as I should be on here; just got really overwhelmed with a BUNCH of stuff.
Managing a band like GNR is a lot of work. It's really hard to stay active on the job when you are ill-equipped to take on the job in the first place.
Maybe we should do a contest on who has the most creative idea on any sort of things to do with the tee....
That AFD cross goes a long way to pay the mortgage. You fucked up. Don't blame the shirt or the record it represents because of it.

Steven is the good guy here. Look at history. Steven gets fired for doing "too many drugs" in Guns N' Roses.
For doing Erin Everly.

Having worked with procrastinating frontmen, I can tell you from experience that the gig starts out great with all the legacy one is proud to build on, but then it sort of plateaus. You work your ass off because you want the job and have a strong urge to cut your teeth with the material, the material inspires you, you turn in something you feel is the vintage sound with your mark on it.
You feel good, the frontman doesn't.
After a while, you just get frustrated and the name becomes more of a baggage than a merit, the gig turns into a drag, because it's all about doing a show once in a blue moon, chipping away at stuff on your downtime and answering the odd question about whether the frontman is difficult to work with, and, most importantly, why doesn't he release new material.
You'd love to give out an answer, but you can't.

Some people seem to wanted an Axl hate fest from Slash and since it didn't happen they are disappointed, so they are crying about RS.
Any examples in this thread or another? Other forums don't count here.
I absolutely agreed with Russ on this one, with this wording.
russtcb wrote:I'll nutshell my thoughts on this;
I don't have any problem with Slash doing any interviews, let alone this one with RS.
I completely agree that Axl makes himself a Target.
My issue is with RS in general and they way they handle themselves which is an issue I've had with them dating all the way back to 1994 in the example given.
Sky Dog's original point, 2nd post in the thread.
Rolling Stone and Jann Wenner are on a crusade....can't say I blame them. No excuse for Ax and Izzy to not show up. Leave the politics of the relationships aside, no excuse.
Sky Dog saying RS has an agenda in this and Axl & Izzy have no excuses is somehow different?
RS tried to make Slash bash Axl. He didn't. But people aren't satisfied. 'It's boring',
To me, it is boring to watch Rolling Stone trying to bait Slash into talking shit. Kudos to him for not going there.
So you... missed completely. You might need to find another hobby than trying to get into a fight with me.
Oh yeah, we wouldn't dare.
Cause you'll just leave the thread.
Sorry guys, but I just don't have enough time for the 19583293rd rehash of the same thing. You started it again and I really don't want to repeat myself. Have fun.

I think Slash almost hoped for it for Steven's sake. But you can't in some ways blame Steven for looking at it as "everyone wants this, and we can all fix it together for the world, but one man refuses to for no real reason at all".
And in some ways, you can.
Axl had a point in saying Steven's way too unstable still, given one person (Axl) can make or break his happiness. It's easy to vilify the other person and keep him as the root of all evil when you wonder why he doesn't do as you please.
And Steven needs to look at it for what it is - he got to perform with Slash and Duff, was recognised for his contributions to the GNR legacy, was able to represent that era, etc.
Demanding Axl to be there, without any consideration towards Axl's feelings on the matter, is rather self-absorbed and shows Stevie hasn't grown up much during his years in the wild. Of course, a lot of these things can be said about Axl as well.

I just got an email from u2.com saying it's time to renew my membership. It costs $40 and it includes the following:

Your own @u2.com email address.
Do you get many pleas from Paul Hewson, saying he'd like to have bono@u2.com?

When you're Axl's spokesperson, you need to channel his moods as well as his message. Otherwise, he blows a gasket. I can see that being a real piss-ant job at the worst, as you sign your integrity out at the door and go with the programme.
Jesus, was a super sensitive, hair trigger guy Axl is. I don't know how he'd survive in the real world. Lucky he became a huge rock star.
Do tell.
No wonder CD took such a ridiculously long time. After all the wrangling with the label and the various personell, etc, at the end of the day they were dealing with an artist who could probably cave in for weeks if someone'd make the comment on not liking something on a track.
The man looks as if he's walking through life nude. Nothing wrong with the added sensitivity it may bring to his work, but as you say, everyday life must be hell for him if everything goes under his skin by default.

some of them are for sure. I love the keyboard work, orchestra, bass, and drums on Chinese. I often wonder what Slash could do if you took all the guitars out on those tracks and left him with the responsibility of playing all the guitars.
Something like this?
