James, Fortus can really play....certainly better than DJ and Ron. That's all I have to say about that.
As for a mixed lineup, fuck that. Either release CD II and briefly tour it properly with the players who wrote the songs (end the fucking era the right way). Or, move the fuck on to a UYI reunion tour with Duff, Matt, Axl, Izzy, Slash and Dizzy. UYI will be 25 years old next year. Perfect timing. AFD will be 30 in 2017.

Just drop the rest of Chinese and be done with that era.

I am out here....haven't had a chance to listen yet.
#1315 Re: Guns N' Roses » Post your track list for GH/Best Of set » 558 weeks ago
Why shouldn't TSI be included? While the band didn't seem to give a shit about it, only Slash promoted it, and the release was bad timing I don't see the point in pretending it doesn't exist. It was GNR's swan song. The fact GNR was in limbo for 15 years after its release places it under an even bigger microscope.
Yep. Remember that GNR GH 2 thing around the forums. I dont remember if that was confirmed fake or not. Anyone have the track list?
So, CODA was Zeppelins Swan Swong....nobody gave a shit . Old school Gnr had 3 proper studio albums...afd, uyi 1 and 2....that is it...noodles and lies don't count as proper albums.

Gotta go with John on this one.....not a fan of DJ at all.

good post Private...agree. Contracts up. Save some cash. Work with the existing songs you have. Plot your next move. We will hear that music someday whether it is released as Guns N Roses, released as a solo project, etc. He won't bury that much unreleased stuff. Personally, I would love to see Axl drop a 3 disc Chinese box set like the Beach Boys did with Smile. "The Chinese Democracy Sessions"..... Then, consider the biggest cash grab of them all.

Who the hell knows what we are going to get now...Smoking, I am quite sure no one is considered in the band right now. It is an open book.
#1319 Re: Guns N' Roses » Tommy's status...hmmmmmmmm » 558 weeks ago
I think they were done when Vegas ended. Contracts ended, etc. Axl gave out the signed Chinese platinum records to everyone and ended that era. He played those last two epic shows and moved on.

and we're off!
Decoding Axl Rose is a whole other matter.
Now 48, Tommy has been playing bass with Rose in Guns N’ Roses since 1998. However, even before rumors started flying a few weeks ago about the late-’80s lineup of GNR getting back together, he said his status in the group was up in the air. His last GNR gig was April 2014 in Las Vegas.
“I reach out once in a while to that crew of people — a lot of whom are also my good friends — but I really have no idea what’s going on,” he said, clarifying at least this much: “I didn’t quit the gig or walk away from it. We just all sort of left it in Vegas.”
A postscript, if needed, on his stint in Guns N’ Roses: “I’ll be honest with you: [Axl Rose] was always very good to me, and it was always a really good gig. It wasn’t necessarily the easiest gig, but it was always good. I have nothing but gratitude for it. If they got [the modern lineup] together again and wanted me to play, of course I’d have to think about it.”
