Won't happen at all...... If you think Axl would give Slash a writing credit on ANY future albums, I got a really big bridge to sell you.

Bucket, from everything we know, sat in the studio for at least two years with Brain writing music, Sorry, Scraped, SR and The General, that we know of. I'd say Bucket was a songwriting partner, just not in the Tommy, Dizzy, CrispPaul crowd.

I've had no expectations of Ron contributing anything to the band. I still don't understand the mentality of wanting to sit around and wait for everyone to get in the same room. You have Richard and DJ working together, with pictures of DJ working with Mother Goose.

And if Soul Monster might have being leaked, could that be Checkmate?

Bucket has 3 writing credits out of the 15 officially released songs...Paul has 8, Robin and Dizzy 7, Tommy 5 and Brain and Mother Goose 2...according to ascap

Duff won't be a peer....Axl will never have any peers again business wise. He obviously wants full control and is too old and stubborn to change now. Duff is more of a peer on a spiritual level and a friendship level.

As for Axl collaborators, I don't put Bucket in that category or Fortus or Dj or Ron. From what we have heard (tracks actually released or leaked like Going Down), Axl's main collaborators for song ideas were Robin, Tommy, Paul, and Dizzy. Bucket pretty much came in as a hired gun to add solos and some riffs to already existing songs...big guns like SOD, IRS, TWAT, and Prostitute for example. Fortus did the same thing except he didn't lay down any mind blowing solos like Bucket. We have no clue what DJ's ultimate role will be.

By the time Axl actually releases something, those tracks recorded ten years ago or just yesterday for that matter could have any number of guitarists playing all kinds of different stuff.

That's your take and you're good for it.

For all we know, there appears to be an intention to put new music out. This June, Ax said there's a studio album and the remix album.

They have the would-be product available to them, the only intention relevant to releasing it would be Axl's.

Where does that leave us? Right now, exactly where we started. Axl always had a very, very serious intention to release CD, and he would've had an album from '98/99 onwards. Only took him a decade.

Time will tell, but one thing's for sure. There'll be plenty of time to get excited if the actual prospect for it arises. wink

What we got going now is a bit like 10 years ago.....uncertain lineup after the departure of Bucket...now, possible departure of Ron and Tommy working with the 'Mats...everything seems up in the air. Good interview with Richie Fortus who recently says they have 3 albums of "material" to choose from. Axl is currently recording some vocals. Yep, quite sure I have heard all this before! Reminds me of Tommy chirping away back in 2004. He learned his lesson and clammed up for the next eight years.

#1406 Re: Guns N' Roses » sp1at thread » 599 weeks ago

Axl mentioned 32 in 2006....Tommy said a few years ago that there were 22 other songs recorded that did not go on Chinese. They definitely have an albums worth of material. There is not a question about that unless you simply choose not to believe what ANYONE in the band says.

I'll say my story....fact is Axl, Izzy and Duff are still friends......fact is a fact...where is the other guy in the discussion? All those ramblings from poor rich rock stars are meaningless. The Slash/Axl thing will NEVER be figured out.

#1408 Re: Guns N' Roses » Matt Sorum open to Playing with Current GNR Line-up » 619 weeks ago

use your illusions all you want...hell will freeze over before Axl brings back Matt. He was insignificant back then and would be insignificant now. Simple as that....not one Gnr writing credit under his name and not a very good drummer anyway...certainly not as good as Josh Freese, Brain or even Frank. He was good on a few songs but overall, he is just too stiff.

personally, at this point, I would prefer any official Gnr released material as well....I just love The Who and Neil Young so that is good with me but love Attitude and Raw Power in the set....definitely would prefer all original Gnr tunes though...no covers at all.

I love The Seeker...especially by The Who....suck it. I am with Divney...lyrics fit Axl ...as does Don't Let It Bring You Down by Neil Young. At this point in his career, Axl is better stripped down.....wish he would do this.....
