That chorus of boos is becoming a bit of a regular occurance. No excuse for the fans behaviour, ie throwing things at the band who must feel like sitting ducks out there. It must be very scary for them facing that. Booing is fair game, throwing bottles or whatever at musicians standing illuminated up on a platform while you are in darkness amongst thousands is as cowardly and stupid as it gets.
But surely, for the love of god, one day it is going to sink in, stop going on fucking late and none of this shit will fucking happen!

About the going on late though. Why does it seem like all of a sudden, the late starts are getting so much attention? Am I crazy to think that it's due to the coverage it got leading up to the Reading/Leeds festivals? They put it out in the press, pretty much warning the crowd that they could be in for a long wait. I know it's been said to death, but they've ALWAYS gone on late. And 1 hour, a half hour, 1 and a half hours, that's not exactly breaking any records. A lot of shows have close to an hour wait in between the opening act and the main act. I went to see Tom Petty a few weeks back and he went on about an hour after Crosby, Stills, and Nash.
It just seems like there's something a little extra going on here. It's a nightly occurrence that things are hurled at the stage now. It's almost a part of the show. Maybe they should build themselves a bubble that they can play in for protection.
Honestly though, it just seems some concertgoers are taking matters into their own hands and they feel they have the right to become part of the show. I mean, this was a SOLD OUT show and this happened. I just don't get it.
Like I said the other day, it was never alright to fuck your fans around and leave them standing around for hours, never will be. Average people dont get used to it, so every time they do it, it is even worse to the audience. The lack of respect shown on such a regular basis is tangible.
Surely Tommy was referring to the rest of the band as his "family", and "he" putting them in "danger again" was Axl.

I'm sick of seeing this guys essay. I tried reading it first this morning when GNR twitter linked to it and couldnt finish it, its just very poor writing. I'm glad the guy loved the show and all that, and he's perfectly entitled to post his review of course, no harm in it at all. I just think his writing skills suck and I really dunno why people keep re-posting it everywhere as if its a work of literary genious.
I find it pretentious dribble and it still hurts my eyes now as much as it did on my first attempt to read it. Sorry

Are you going to any shows or did you end up selling your tickets?
I still think they put on a hell of a show WHEN/IF they hit the stage. It's a risky proposition buying tickets to a GNR show, but then again, it always has been. It'd still be worth the risk to me. Though when this tour began I figured I'd go to as many shows as I could. I think at this point, I'd settle for one. Of course, they'd have to make their way to the US first, and lord knows how difficult that is for this band, who hails from the US.
I still have my ticket for Belfast, just decided I wasnt prepared to fork out anymore cash on all my travelling expenses, booze, food etc on a band thats been so stuck up their own arse and taking their fans for granted. My one man protest, its been a war...
Might drive down to Manchester in October and get a ticket outside, if I feel differently about them by then.
Almost caved and booked a flight last minute, it was bloody expensive cause it was last minute, so never bothered. Was looking at the shows scheduled and theres one in Vienna on a Saturday night, flights would cost the same as the one last night. Kinda got me thinking I could go do some sightseeing by day and take in GNR as an afterthought. So even if they do fuck about or do a no show, it would still be a worthwhile trip.
The saturday night would be much more convenient, one thing that struck me about this whole tour is the fact that rarely have any shows been on a friday or saturday night, found it a bit odd.
One of my mates texted me this morning saying they came on it 9.50 and played till 12.10, his ears are still ringing and Axl still has a great voice.

I read on another board updating that "Axl sounds deafening" - well I can confirm lol! His voice was strong and booming out, infact the whole production sounded immence, the mix was perfect.
#1450 Re: Guns N' Roses » GN'R Twitter Updates » 844 weeks ago
Sounds familier.
Mabye they should upload a scan of the factual start and changeover times document. Its all so hard to believe, GNR are always late on. They were on hours after the support acts, when their stage was all set up, all throughout this tour, who's to blame there?
At least they are showing concern about the backlash and almost apologising, instead of just stone walling it like the last 10 years.
Any doubts I had about that tweet cancelling the tour being Axl are evaporating, I'm now thinking he was playing hardball in some negotiations and that was his ace.
