I must say. I don't find the Axl/Slash thing remotely interesting anymore so I didn't read any part where he discussed Slash.

Nice. If only they'd stop screwing up releases.
that was pretty sweet.

he should have been used like Izzy was on the Illusions

I agree on Fortus' lead skills, but as good as he is, he is still in the Slash style of traditional rock, where bumble does all that virtuoso stuff that isn't needed.
exactly, Richard is the closest thing to Slash on lead...he isn't Slash (obviously) but he is solid. DJ is a fucking clown...cannot stand him.....sorry if that offends anyone (I know JR and D like him so apologize to them in advance!).

I was at a party and everyone thought it sounded pretty good...Smokin', I can't stand Richard's rhythm style either...the punch thing just doesn't work....especially when you put him up against Izzy and his laid back cool style. However, to me, Richard is the best lead player they have. He is a beast on lead and it is a shame that he doesn't get all the leads on the classic material.

NoKnownName wrote:I assume the reason for that is the fact that In The Flesh is from the scene in The Wall where the main character envisions himself as a facist dictator. In the film adaptation of the album, he is portrayed as a Nazi. However, in One in a Million, there is no indication that Axl is singing as a character, so people would assume that the lyrics are his actual point of view.
idk, the Stones used to put condescending county songs in their albums, whitch were also kinda out of left field, and they were accepted as parody.
the Stones started putting country type songs on their albums around the same time they met Gram Parsons....their country songs are slightly campy but are literally some of their best songs ever

I think Ax meant it as stated....straight up hardcore honesty. Wall definitely Waters theatre as he is a FLAMING liberal. OIAM is easily a top 10 Gnr song. I don't agree with everything Axl said but it is him to the bone....you boys don't live in the South. I understand his point of view but do think he could have said things a bit more PC. In the end, songs like that are why we love him.....he is a fractured, narcissistic, angry, intelligent, soft hearted, romantic, witty, mean bastard. He is what he is.

Ron isn't important to anything Gnr related...he is a great guy and a great guitar player but I doubt he holds ANY influence over Gnr related stuff. It is not his fault as his heart is in the right place.
