I'm sorry. But nobody loved Duff that much (only on a Gnr board with some crazy fuckin fanatics)....he was just another bass player and was a burned out fat, alcoholic junkie during the UYI era. I was there. I actually know. People knew and still know Gnr as Axl/Slash. axl92 21

I've honestly loved the discussion - even the comments I think are insane.  Even though I don't think you can question that The Beatles are the greatest rock band ever, some have and they made some good points in the discussion (even if I don't agree with them).  I haven't seen too many comments that are just so out there that they are impossible to believe.

We all like different stuff - some of the music I like people would find completely laughable (Barry Manilow for example).  At some point there was a guilty pleasures thread (not sure if it was here or at the old site)...that was one of my favorite threads.  People listen to all kinds of stuff they enjoy - does it matter if someone else thinks it sucks?  Do you enjoy it less?  I know I don't.  Other than having some fun with some of the more outrageous comments, I don't care what people like and don't like really - it doesn't change my life at all.

All I do is make honest statements about how I feel.  It's not meant to bring others down or insult what they like.  I don't care what you like; I'm just stating why I don't like it or that I never understood what was so appealing about something.  I've just viewed this as a fun discussion...I'm not sure what the big deal is.

Ha...I love Mandy....

I just can't believe anybody would take this serious...and Rush has some huge songs...70's early 80's have some classics. My first concert in 1982.

We've reached insanity for sure now.  This is awesome...I wonder how far into the abyss we can go if we let this thing keep going.

Jungle and SCOM are drop dead classics.....period. 2 of the greatest hard rock songs ever written.

#1559 Re: Guns N' Roses » Doug Goldstein Letter to Axl » 694 weeks ago

agree....I am not saying Axl doesn't hold responsibility...he certainly does because Doug worked for him (key point) but I think Doug likely over stepped his authority.

#1560 Re: Guns N' Roses » Doug Goldstein Letter to Axl » 694 weeks ago

I still think Goldstein was the one who pushed the alleged concert/hijack/name issue on Slash and Duff....Axl is nuts, but he was/isn't that cutthroat...I think Doug made up the story about Axl won't go on unless you sign the name over....the name issue may have come down to Dougie and his quest to have more power.
