i think the success of the first single is being severely understated by a lot of people. the song is in heavy, heavy rotation, and winning more people over with every spin.

what i think adds to the aura of this album is the unbelievable dichotomy amongst the songs. every song seems to have a critic that applauds it, while another critic that trashes it. meanwhile, the same critic that trashed that song raves about another, while the critic that loved the first song is disgusted by the second.

his range is a thousand times better than it was in the UYI days. i dont know what people are complaining about on Shacklers.
Street of Dreams is, in my opinion, the best vocal work he has done on any track. ever. Perfect mixture between crooning and piercing.

There has been a lot of talk about how they may have just merged some of these songs with some songs that ended up on the album. i dont particularly buy that. i don't know how come up with titles like Atlas Shrugged, Ides of March, Seven, Thyme, Zodiac, and Oklahoma based on instrumentals. Maybe Closing in on You, Quick Song, Suckerpunched, and Cock-a-Roach soup but I'm not to convinced on the others.
