#1671 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl Rose reality show proposed » 944 weeks ago
The new (still untitled) reality show would follow Rose and his band as they prepare for release of the album. It would include behind-the-scenes rehearsal and studio footage, as well as interviews with a number of the participants. "There is a lot of footage to choose from," said a network source. "Some of it is incredibly personal and revealing about Axl's life."
This part struck me as odd, it makes it sound like they've already been filming, how can there be footage to choose from, some of it incredibly personal if they haven't filmed anything yet?

war wrote:you could have afforded the managers they had back then. these guys, on the contrary, are heavy hitters. look at their track record. as far as doing what axl tells them, yes, but only to an extent. he hired them to get the album out = fact because he wouldn't be paying them for anything else. you can bet they are not cheap. axl will respect them. you ask how i know all this. to me it seems obvious.
No offense, but I disagree whole-heartedly. I'm gonna tell you why. Axl's his own person, remember the story about a high-profile producer was brought in to help Axl finish the album (years ago, it was in Q Magazine article I beleive) He was a friend of the label head & came in, said "We're gonna do this, this and then this, all by this deadline and put it out by this date." Axl said OK, and the next day the guy was fired. I'm not trying to say 'Axl is the man' or anything, but he is a controlling headcase, and I don't think anybody walks in to his life and work & gives him orders. Especially people he's paying.
Secondly, you say 'he hired them to get the album out'. Yes, and if the album is completed ( which is possible) it would then be a debate between GnR's mgmt, Axl, and the label. So his mgmt would be telling the label what to do, not telling Axl. He'd balk at any suggestions his mgmt gives him that he disagrees with.
I'm not sure that's true anymore. Wasn't it Baz who said in an interview not that long ago that Axl's sick of yes man and people don't talk to him straight. This is all off memory but I'm pretty sure Baz said people only say to Axl what they think he wants to hear and he respects people a lot more who tell him it how it is.

Back to the topic: it's very strange that the official unofficial fan site still doesn't have this news on the main page. I guess the GN'R camp is trying to find out what's up with Robin... Strange... They reacted for the Dr. Pepper challange in 24 hours, yet they have nothing to say about the internet rumours and fan concerns that their lead guitarist might have left the band.
It is strange, I think they might have been as blind sided by this as we were

Well I suppose it might be, but didn't he supposedly get all excited on some radio show or something about a phone call he'd just recieved and said it was life changing or something? Hadn't the Poison stuff already been announced then?
#1675 Re: The Sunset Strip » Bach's big news! » 944 weeks ago
Wasn't Bach saying his news was going to be life changing or something?

if they saw this coming axl or management would have updated us by now
I'm not even sure they even will update us. I'm not trusting their lines of communication one bit.
It's a bit of a baptism of fire for management, lets see how they handle it.

there is no way in hell a lame ass reunion is going to happen. axl is not going to sell out the band just to bring in a bunch of guys who abandoned it a long time ago and don't deserve to be in the band.
You know the same could be said pretty soon about the current band. There won't be anyone left to sell out. From a band of 8 that recorded the CD sessions only 4 of those guys currently still remain for certain, half the band members now are replacements of replacements. I assume if Robin has left he will no longer deserve to be in the band either?

I think you've made the right choice. I've owned motorolas and samsungs and samsung is by far the better make imo, I found motorola really unreliable, I've not had a problem with my current samsung in all the time I've had it which is about 18 months (hopefully I've not just jinxed that!).

i was banned from ////'s site, so i cant read it. but, i know several people on there and they said that ///// was a mad woman last night. he was caught off guard about this. he does not get anymore info from the band and he is trying to save face. the inner circle will not deal with him anymore and he gets no news, no updates. im curious what www.heretodaygonetohellandleft.com will turn out to be . all i know is that it will take the ball from where ////'s site was and make it better. i have no news as to when it will go "live" if ever. if robin is out, this version is dead and we have a reunion...
Could you leave the anti Jarmo stuff out of this thread it's neither relevent to the topic nor how things are done here. You know where Jarmo is if you've got a problem with him.
That site is clearly going to have nothing to do with GNR in any official capacity and is being made solely to get back at Jarmo. As it's neither live nor legit please stop quoting it.

I don't think hes gone permanently. I'm sure he's just on loan. I wouldn't be gutted if he was, I always thought he was pretty unimpressive.
Robin's been in this from the start, besides Axl the cornerstones of this project were/are Robin and Tommy. It's been said many times that if either of those guys were to leave the project then it's effectively dead and it's probably true. Whilst Axl has the name there will always be a GNR and he could hire another guitarist or bassist but given the years of delays already and the time it would take to rerecord and maybe rewrite and perfect the album all over again we could honestly be looking at another 2-4 years of silence minimum. By the time CD would be ready to launch again nobody would be left to care, assuming other members hadn't got sick of waiting again and left as well.
Whether people like Robin or not isn't the issue here, without him I don't see CD ever coming out.
Hopefully though all the above is hypothetical and Robin has returned to NIN whilst still remaining in GNR during some quiet time. The frustrating thing is the last few weeks didn't feel like quiet time, it really seemed like progress was being made and then this is announced, it really feels like a major step back.
