i hope you're right.
but i'm starting to have doubts about it. an announcement or even just an update on the website HAS to happen, right? it's not something i'm dying to hear or something that i think Axl owes us. it's just common sense that at some point Axl will confirm in some way.
so the longer it takes to make that announcement, the more i believe it is because there may be a problem. it wouldn't exactly be a shock if Axl didn't like the final masters.

what should be a positive/exciting time in the gnr world has taken a nasty turn. there's definitely a negative vibe in the air.

i think AFD is the greatest album ever made (followed by Zeppelin IV). so nothing in my mind will ever really compare to that.
I love UYI 1&2 and i think the new stuff compares pretty favorably to that. i think it's VERY possible that CD will end up being as good as either of those albums. obviously, it depends on the strength of the 3 new songs and the quality of the final versions of the other 11.
it's tough to rank all the songs though cause it's such a close call on so many. but my top 10 would include at least 7 from AFD (maybe 8 or 9). the other songs in the mix would include (in no particular order)....Estranged, Double Talkin Jive, YCBM, Patience, One in a million, TWAT, Chinese Democracy, IRS, Shackler's Revenge.

i like the new track list. very similar to how i've had it set up. great start with CD, SR, and better.

we're getting at least 3 new songs. i'm really glad CITR is on there too. that's classic stuff.
I.R.S. and Shackler's are two of my favorite songs. i'd be really disappointed if they weren't on there.
i'm not a big fan of the blues. i got excited when i didn't see it at first. we can't be 100% sure, but it's probably 99% certain that that is the blues.
as for prostitute, it's very likely, but i'm not assuming anything about Song #2 at this point.
first single should be the title track IMO.

maybe. and maybe these are ALL actual covers. it wouldn't be a shock at all if there were more than one.

alot of threads turn into discussions of the songs. i didn't see a thread dedicated to rating and/or ranking the songs, so i figured i'd start one.
Frame of Reference
first, i think it's important to state what your favorite gnr songs are. it'll give us a sense of old vs new fans....
i think AFD is the greatest album ever made. i love the illusion albums as well, but have a greater appreciattion for the raw and dirty feel of AFD. at least 6 of my fav gnr songs are off of AFD.

Comments on New Songs
I'm a big fan of the songs overall. i think TWAT is one of the best gnr songs ever. I didn't like If the World at first, but it has really grown on me. i think it's a great song.
i'm really high on my songs ranked 1-5. i would score each of them a 9 or a 10 (on a 10-point scale).
songs 6-8 would all be scored about an 8.
songs 9-11 would get a 6 or 7. i like the songs, but i never go out of my way to listen to them.
