Well, someone over at MyGNR apparently asked CD co-producer Caram Costanzo last month about whether he's involved with CD2. Caram denied this. He did live sound for the band in 2010-12, and MSL said he was still owed backend monies for CD at the time. If true, it's beginning to look like Pitman's taken over the studio monkey role. I'm sure he's technically up to snuff.
As for everybody else, remember the Radar Online rumors?
“Band members have been told their calendars are free following Vegas,” a source close to the band tells RadarOnline. “Axl (Rose) is considering retiring and it’s done. Band members and support staff were surprised when told the news and are actively looking for work.”
Everybody clinged onto the retirement rumor, and conveniently overlooked the fact that the Guns calendar was left wide open after Vegas. What might've happened there was Axl unceremoniously wrapping up the CD era. There's enough material in the vaults to compile new releases, which he only needs to dress up on his own time. Him and Pitman.
Everybody else is likely out there, waiting for the call to happen. Given Diz and Frank were involved in that recent (lame) Nightrain contest, they're both still 'involved', so to speak. Ditto Tommy. Fortus is a good sport to take Dizzy along over to Dead Daisies. Pitman and Frank have the Beatrazr thing going.
DJ and Ron both likely left just because. According to the 'confirmed source', "[Ron] quit [in March/April] in South America. He told Axl he was done and (Las) Vegas would be his last run with the band." On the first day of the Vegas residency, news broke out that all bets were off. Ron may have simply advised TB that he would use the layoff as his cue to leave the band. Alternatively, Ron smelled the coffee by the time Duff came in and wanted to leave - Axl laid off the entire touring band in response. Go figure.
Too theoretical for me.
This is all based off a logical argument from some pretty optimistic assumptions.
I really hope you are right, but in the interest of providing a decent counterfoil, here is what we know for sure:
1. DJ is gone.
2. Ron is being "weird".
3. Axl and Pittman posted a shot from the studio.
4. Stay of execution fell through.
And that is it really.
All pretty negative developments.
Lets see where things go from here.

Exactly, when there's something to talk about activity will pick up.
Fortunately it seems most users here post only when there is something meaningful going on. Posting to try and keep things busy and manufacturer activity doesn't seem to wash with members here and I'm cool with that.
If something good happens with GNR I'm sure members will come out of the woodwork again.
Do you think anythings going to happen tho? I mean, it doesn't seem a new album is anytime soon. Not sure how much I'd really care for it, aside from listening to the songs once they're out. A reunion would be cool, but only for the concert to goto. I don't think the originals would put out an album. Not before touring at least. Secondly, isn't GnR basically at the point VH was after ditching Sherrone. I mean, sure it could be GnR reunited again, but aren't they pretty much past their prime. Sure they might be able to pull something cool off (new sounds sounding like 'Yesterdays'), but that'd probably be about 3-5 years away at this point.
I do. Simply because a man as calculated and careful as Axl Rose doesn't post a tweet from his studio unless he's working on something.
That was December 4th of last year.
The copyrighting of the name 'Stay of Execution"
Fed that for me.
In my head there's a 3 year window open for the release of new music.
DJ and Fortus' claims I trust less, but they are GNR band members making positive statements about new music.
Lets not forget how rare that is.
During the dark times, 94-08 news like that would have fed our fascination here for months.
If I'm being honest, I expect an album in 2016.

Yeah and there's nothing wrong with that. It's a lot more authentic than us trying to make up news stuff to talk about for the sake of it.

Yeah those vocals been knocking around for a good and long time now.

Okay after the initial excitement...
Those vocals are definitely multi-tracked.
An it could easily be Sebastian Bach in parts

Believe it when I see it I guess. But hey if it's anything like how CD went down we should be getting leaks any minute!
aaaaand the leaks have begun.

Yeah I REALLY am sick of this guy now. He's continuing to do new interviews, there's another one out there right now, where he backpeddles on his previous comments about not being welcomed by the band, and then basically blames the media for not wanting to talk about his charity work, but only the negative stuff.
RON BROUGHT IT UP
The hell?
You made this bed -- again. You talked shit, but you didn't name names, and now that people are asking you to name names, he's wanting to back peddle. He should've just laid ALL his cards on the table, regardless of his state in the band or in or out.
Regardless, i'm over this guy.
Exactly, he was the nicest guy in the world when being nice profited him and then the minute that changes.... he's just a whining and bitching.
I would hate to work with this guy.
