Exactly what I thought... And I consider that a bad thing.
I dig Pantera and I dig Coe, but Rebel Meets Rebel didn't come off as them working together. It came off as them both doing what they do, then cut and pasting it without trying to fill a middle to me.

Yeah, it was almost like he was singing a different song.
The fact that this is what they chose for a preview clip can't bode well for the album. I can't see that clip getting anyone excited.

Yeah, I did. I watched it, not live, but the second run of the stream Monday night on that link I posted. I didn't even watch the video you put up, it was actually more Hostile I was thinking of.
I'll halfway give him a pass, because he was probably backstage shooting the shit with people, possibly drinking, when he should have been warming up his voice to try to do something like this.
That said, when he performed a couple songs with Alice In Chains a few years ago, I thought he sounded like shit then too.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a Phil fan.. Love Pantera.. Love Down... maybe he's just a bad guest star.
Shit, it's still going at that link, I might watch the whole thing again tonight. The Frank Bello, Dave Ellefson jams at the beginning of it are really cool too.

It's the kind of thing that shouldn't hurt anything. It's a step in a modern directiin which they need to embrace.
People are going to lose thier shit about things with this band... just accept it and move on.

I saw them on Bridges to Babylon. I'd go see them again for a reasonable price, but I'll bet I'm not willing to pay what they will cost.
That said, if I hadn't ever seen them I probably would.

This might be worth starting a new thread, but I'll bet anyone who cares will find it in here... Anybody else (BLS specificaly, but anybody else too) check out the Southern Independent compilations Shooter has been pushing lately.
