I'm still chipping in but it'll be tomorrow afternoon at the earliest I'll have funds clear, if not then, the next day.

Sounds pretty cool. I'd be suprised if he doesnt have a few hit singles on it and blow CD's sales out the water, and you can bet your last dollar he will whore the hell out of this record
More power to him, hopefully I'll find something on it that grabs me more than any VR song did.

I love it, warts n' all.
Nothing jumps out to me anymore as being out of place, or stuck on, except that choir sound at the end of TWAT.
I love the variety in sounds and places it takes you, its a trip when you actually think back to where you were a song or 2 ago, comparing it to the moment in a song you are at now.
I use that thought process all through the album and it always blows my mind and makes me enjoy the moment even more and you really get into the song. When you finally reach the outro to Prostitute you really feel like you've been on a musical journey and those soothing notes are so damn appropriate

#1895 Re: Guns N' Roses » 1st listen to CD in awhile... » 888 weeks ago
Well thats just super
Does this mean you bought it?

They're buds. It probably pisses Baz off reading all the negative shit about Axl in the press and he just takes the opportunity to defend Axl by praising him highly.

Stop Press: Axl in rehearsal shocker!!
Seriously though, they are still rehearsing? Sounds like someones lit a fire up their collective asses and they mean business.
I think they are going to sound immense this time around!!

Its looks like the tour promotion will be phoned in just like the "monumental" album campaign was. Here was me hopefull for 2 vids as well, duhThey even logged into myspace yesterday and didnt add the tour dates, never mind update gnr.com. Does it really take such a monumental effort to do these things?
Fuck it, I'm off to bed to try revisit the Catcher In The Rye video I saw last night...
Olorin, your Scottish/Irish drinking ass should have known to not expect anything.
I know my optimism got the better of me I was just tired and cranky last night and needed my nap.
But I suppose a video could still be rolled out, if they save a buck by hiring cheap support acts it could be spent on a better stage show and leave some funds over for promotion.
This I Love would do great over the Christmas holiday season with a nice video.
(Its hard to believe whisky drinkin season is almost upon us again)

I'm not really suprised. Didnt that Eagles of Death Metal guy say that they got paid upfront for the whole tour because of Axls touring reputation?
Any credible band will probably be asking for serious top dollar upfront to be even consider being part of an Axl tour, the manner in which he boycotted the album release could have raised the concerns of potential touring partners even more and increased their asking price.
I'd say Baz and some up and coming bands are as good as it will get.
I'm not really interested in seeing opening acts at a GNR show cause theres every chance you could be left standing for hours on end. I'd rather roll in to the show half n hour before GNR should realisticlly be hitting the stage and find myself a good position.
