It's the gaslighting by the media & the shift to the right of the general population, the morally repugnant lack of courage & the underlying imperial mentality of little england combined that really does make me fucking sick to my stomach to a debilitating degree. It's not so much the politics itself, but the selfish desire what drives it that gets to me. What a horrible fuckin world.

Resurrection- They clone Ripley and the alien embryo that was inside her two hundred years ago? How is that even possible?
It's called science fiction mate.
Gave a bit more thought to your analysis and think you're completely wrong. (There's a surprise!). I mean in relation to your opinion on the first two specifically.
The 2nd one is 'just' a great action film set in the alien universe, in reality there's not actually much to distinguish it from the plethora of 80's/90's sci-fi action films.
In terms of story telling and world building, Alien is incomparable to Aliens. The first is just a masterpiece of film, melding genres and creating a new universe in film history. It's an incredible chase/horror/monster film and that's even before you get to the wider storyline and influence it still has. The 2nd one is just a very traditional action film whose very best ideas are directly inspired by the first film, but it doesn't bring enough good new ideas to the universe, in say the way Prometheus did, or even Resurrection tried to do.
I couldn't give a shit about newt or hicks. Think biehn was maybe a bit of a dick about his image being used?
There being only one alien? It's in the fuckin title of the movie man(!). Pretty cool alien in it i thought.. but that's just me, great introduction of it with the dead ox & the guy holding up the shed skin.
Being bored & "Ripley in panties still got my juices flowing" tho says it all really.

Oddly enough I also watched the Alien films again recently, partly inspired by paxtons passing.
Alien remains one of my all time favourites, if not my favourite film. Still remains prob the best experience I've ever had in a cinema, the first time I saw it.
Aliens is great but hasn't aged well in comparison to 1 & 3. More a comedy than anything else these days.
Alien 3 is fuckin brilliant. One of the bleakest most depressing films ever! Yea in its original form it's a little undercooked but they did a great job piecing it together again.
4 is actually ok. A little out there but I get the direction they went with.
I also rewatched the matrix trilogy. Holy fuck but do those films suck. Morpheus must be the most irritating character in film history.

I don't like the way the Tories are handling things domestically however I do think they are probably the best party to take us through Brexit.
Yes, because they've been doin such a great job of it so far.
It's nasty, low ball politiking. The tories are staging a coup & will further their destruction of common decency & togetherness, they're tearing communities apart.
It's a bleak outlook, unless people rally round the opposition. I'm not hopeful.
I really am so far removed from the mindset of the average English voter: I really cannot see ANYTHING redeemable about the Tories. They are rotten to their very core.

To be honest:
it creates a feeling of cynicism. They waited until it was just too late - until they had literally no other choice - just to do the easiest thing and give us the minimum they need to do to retire large.
But in this instance....I'm just so fed up with sub-par product. Why do we have to wait until it's not as good as it good have been and then do a poorly executed minimum with every project in this band?
The GNR legacy has become a shameful waste of talent and an exercise in individualistic greed. Disgusting from musicians who in my opinion were one of the greatest acts of all time.
Wow. Don't hold back monkey..

Haven't gotten to play any of the new games. Still want Nier & Horizon. Think ME: Andromeda is a shitheap. Persona 5 looks good.
Played Doom last week. Thought it was excellent. Got completely lost a couple of times when I paused for breath. Exactly the kind of labyrinth layout & gameplay I'd have spent months discovering every nook & cranny of when I was younger.
Also played Everything & Night in the Woods. Really enjoyed both of those. Everything was amazing, a trippy exploration game that was both boring as fuck and addictive. Night in the Woods was really fun but kinda shit the bed with weird storyline decisions.
Doing Prison Architect atm. Good so far. Kinda fiddly & could do with some clearer signposting/handholding.

Aye good show. Woke up yesterday not feeling too well had the runs & was thinking about maybe giving it a miss, but in the end I'm glad I went. Really loud & they put on an arena sized show in a small club.
Suffered a bit tho that I wasn't boozing & it was a Monday night. If it had been on a Friday or Saturday I'd have enjoyed it that much more. By the end it was starting to drag a little. Didn't hang around for meet & greet or whatever as I had to drive home (& take a shit).

Hopefully the 7 episodes will mean less padding.. unless the 13(?) episodes mean extra??
