Dem fakes were pretty fuckin spectatular at the Glasgow gig in 06 and i've been absolutely champing at the bit to experience that high again, what a night it was!
The only weakness they had that night was Robin, I like the guy and he nailed all the songs perfectly but his solo spots were excruciating, and of which  there were many. He is the only line-up change from that night and even though I'd rather have him on board than DJ cause he is an original CD Era member, he's gone, and i'm interested to see what DJ brings to the plate.
I'm hoping Brain will be there also, he's actually my favourite member and it will be great to see Ron on stage again. He was a bit of an unknown during the last tour but since then he has pretty much embraced the fan base and became very familiar and a freind of the fans. I think he will be a lot more confident and outgoing on stage and it will make for a better show.

I would walk to fucking London if it was the only way I could see them play in the UK.

#2105 Re: Guns N' Roses » Interesting part of Axl's February Del James interview » 894 weeks ago

Izzy is barely audible in parts cause he was AWOL and Slash took over rhythm duties as well. I think the Illusions are a pretty miraculous achievement considering how bad relationships were between them all. I remember being flabergasted when I seen that interview with Axl and he was saying how him and Slash rarely crossed paths and they would work on the music over the phone.
Mabye if Izzy was more assertive he could have had more control, I guess getting sober and trying to work with junkies, alcoholics and Axl was a headache he could happily live without.

I think a CD heavy set list will leave most people a bit underwhelmed.

They play what,  20 songs or above at a show? I'd be champing at the bit for say 10 new songs and the rest classics. I really hope they look at this as CD era and not just a nostalgia show. The albums out, I reckon most folk who attend the shows will have the new album and those who didnt like it will just stay at home.
I've always thought that the true strength of the album will be measured on how successful the shows are. If they get a good turnout across the world like in 2006/7 I'd say it was a success, if they struggle to fill venues regularly wherever they go then I'll be more willing to accept what the haters have been shoving in the face of anyone who shows enthusiasm all year, the album is a flop and the band is dead yada yada.

Flights with someone like Ryanair would probably be fairly cheap and you could probably find some accomodation somwhere, heck even a youth hostel probably. Could become quite the nice affordable holiday.

What a weekend of debauchery that could be, it would probably be the end of me.
But, better to burn out....

I've still got my Megadrive and NBA Jam, the game was the bollocks back in the day.

The venue they played the Glasgow show is 20 minutes from my house by car, but I got drunk and took the scenic route by train. 3 trains actually hmm
Oh well, gave me time to finish my bottle.

This time I would probably catch as many UK shows as I could and get the ferry across to Ireland. I'm aiming for Glasgow, Newcastle, London and Ireland. Northern Ireland would be pretty cool as well, I can get free bed and board so I'd be there for sure. The setlist doesnt really bother me with regards to the classic songs, but I'm hoping they play the whole of the new album.
I'm not expecting any unheard songs to be premiered either.

#2110 Re: Guns N' Roses » new scraped intro?? WTF is this?? » 895 weeks ago

Nice! I dont think its official, more like someone has just sampled the intro with the intent to make dance song out of it. Sounds damn good though, I'd love to hear the full version.
Hey now, mabye this is off the remix album Brain mentioned! big_smile
