Maybe like Baz says, it takes him a while to warm up his vocal cords and maybe with the werid Rio schedule, he didn't get to properly. if that is the difference.. then he has my permission to be as late as needed for my show.

Im only disappointed cause we seem to always get the one step forward/2 steps back approcah with GNR.. Just when u think Axl is gonna have his Rocky moment and come back and rule the world again *2006* something happens... after the way the 2010 tour ended, as strong as he was sounding and seemingly the shape he got himself back into.. I was very hopeful 2011 would be a return to 2006 form..... So when i saw the RIR.... It just deflated me like a motherfucker... and maybe thats my fault for actually having expectations. but to see Axl seemingly starting from square 1 again is disappointing and I feel bad for him. It kills me to see someone i have such high regard/respect/and fandom for consistently miss opportunities and hurt his legacy further when he should be celebrated as one of the greatest of all time.

Also, Patience is the most fucked up song in GNR history imo.. he screwed it up at RIR III and countless other times on tour..

Again what does rain have to do with song selection? U2(I use them as an example caus eit's waht I know) debuted Mercy for the first time EVER in Zurch in 2010 in torential rain. What makes Gn'R so different that the weather effects their song selection? The answer is nothing. I will never buy for one second that weather plays a part in what songs they decide to play. If they had wanted to play a new song and didn't it's cause he realized he was shitting the bed not because of rain. Funny how they managed to play Estranged for the first time ever despite the horrible weather conditions. That was in essence a brand new song for this band and there was even more pressure to deliver a great performance of that song than a new song so NO weather played no part.
1.U2 consistently release music.. so no offense but a brand new u2 song isn't THAT big of a deal whereas anything new GNR wise is major *maybe not for the right reasons but it is
2. Axl may have known his voice wasn't up to snuff and didn't want people's first introduction to a new song to be muddled with subpar vocals

axl had a funny line after TIL was looking for it the other day but couldnt find it
after TIL Axl says..."well my lip sync tape broke and my mic was turned off....kidding! Ok lets see what we can fuck with now" obviously in a joking manner and in response to the Axl always blames everyone but himself
anyway Bono....-D- you guys called me an enabler because i said most of the show was good and there was fuckups spattered throughout...so then -D- says basically the same shit but he is realistic....

I said it had several great moments but the majority of the show was the worst GNR show I've ever heard

I am an Axl fan.. so I'm not someone that nitpicks or looks for things to just pounce on him about.. But I am not an overzealous blind fan either... I am the first to praise when things are awesome but I'm gonna call him out when I don't agree or thinks he is slacking off. Hell, I started a very positive thread about the US tour going smooth a couple weeks ago... Shit I look dumb at the moment for that one.
