Any first impression for the new band that was made was made a while ago...peopel just didnt decide after 11 years of gnr post slash/duff touring that all of a sudden everything was fixed

face it people either like the new era or they dont, they can't out do themselves every show...they are human just like you and me, sometimes they have bad nights, thems the breaks

see difference from what i'm doing and most others are doing is that i ame trying to take soemthing positive out of the gig rather than nitpicking all the bad stuff... i'm sure axl and the band are well aware of the mishaps that happened and are prolly even harder on themselves about them than we could ever be, i think as a fan it is nice to be able to say..."yeah that part sucked, but did you see this other part?" I'm not denying that the show had obvious flaws...i'm just saying there were highlights too, and instead of harping on the bad points i can look at the good points and say "it wasnt the greatest but it wasnt totally shitty either" 22

Thats fine if that is how you choose to look at it. I simply don't. Axl kept and fought for the GNR steering wheel cause he had a vision and his vision was suppose to be "great" Slash was lazy and was going to kill the legacy by doing simplistic easy rock n roll, Axl wanted the band to evolve..... and live up to its high standards

that is my problem

Since he has had the ball solely on his own... he has done "NOTHING" to elevate the GNR legacy and the long wait and above average album didn't help.. Couple that with the Philly debacle in 02, The Dublin thing last year and now coming out in front of 90k people, closing this massive festival and performing/sounding like that is simply inexcusable.

This is Guns N Roses.. some of u think cause there wasn't a massive riot that somehow it was a success. NO, that isn't the criteria we judge Axl by.

in 2006, i saw him absolutely blow Kid Rock off the fucking stage....... just dominated him.. his voice was BETTER than anytime during the UYI tour.. so Im sick of this "Axl is near 50" bullshit and this is the best he can do. Its bullshit. Axl got voted the number 1 living singer recently in that one poll..... he is not living up to that and it isn't because he can't.. its because he refuses to put in the necessary work which in turn rips off the fans who pay to see Axl Rose at top form.. not this.

People supporting this, think they are being a 'true' fan when in reality they are just enabling the same bullshit to happen year after year.

Maybe I am wrong for expecting more out of an all time great.

i guess maybe you are...and i think i said that in my post that maybe my expectations arent as high as everyone else's...like i said try watching it when you are awake and not at 2:00am expecting 2 or 3 new tracks and 5 other tracks that they never played live before

i did say that it wasnt the greatest show ever....pretty obvious with, messes up on a couple guitar solos, vocal miscues, axl sounding winded at times, missing lyrics and shit...but it wasnt a complete disaster either. there were some definate high points..what songs did he miss lyrics on? TIL, NR, Patience...anythign else? Jungle solo got messed up due to technical difficulties 16 timing at hte end of LALD screwed, winded on a few songs (better ycbm being the bad ones) did i miss anything else armchair tour managers? but its not like the whole song was fucked and usually the bad parts happened right at the end of the songs, up til the miscues everythign seems to be going pretty good imo...as the show wears on though each flub pisses off axl more, but the crowd is so into it that Axl gest into the songs again by the end...watch axl at the start of PC then at the end....he is PISSED at the beginning, then rocking out at the end...whatever it happened its over and they finished the show...some of you were close to predicting a Riot when you saw a damn puddle on the stage before the show even started

fine you want me to be "objective" the show sucked this is the end of NuGnR....Axl is gonna go crawling back to slash after this fiasco of epic proportions...the tour is finished i dont see him recovering after this joke of a show .... blah blah blah ... thats whats considered to be "objective" right?

fact is here it was the first show, axls voice will get stronger as they go on, they will tour the USA and some of you that are nay sayers now will be creaming your pants when they stop in your town sayign how great they were

also your mad cuz i kicked your ass in fantasy football 15

HAHA i am getting everybody that has someone going nuts each week!!!! can't win like that!!

Anyhow, yeah i mean compared to ST Louis and riots etc or Axl walking off stage and not finishing... the show wasn't that big of a trainwreck but to close this type of festival, with so much on the line, US Tour starting, people just waiting for u to fail and u come out and do THIS.....  Just not good going forward if they sound like this the rest of the tour... its gonna kill what is left of the fanbase and the curious casual fan.

U don't want people coming home.. prob after waiting hours and say "That was the worst shit I've ever seen"
Axl has 2 strikes against him already keeping the band name and it not being the original lineup..s o that means he has to "OVERACHIEVE" and he has far from done that.

Not the same deal at all. Rio is like Axl's Super Bowl and he choked worse than a gagging porn star.

I just honest to God can't understand how anybody can find the slightest thing Good about this concert as a whole. had a few nice moments.. but overall... are people tone deaf? Just so overzealous they can't hear properly?

This was just posted to my facebook page, not by me . Anyone who thinks this shit show won't hit the general public is living in la la land. The genral public Love Axl but the also love to hate Axl. This shit is gold for them so... Comments on youtube on all sorts of GnR RIR '11 videos with people saying they were thinking about getting tickets for the tour but not anymore.

the fact a video like this is already up on youtube speaks volumes. the worst part in my mind is watching him sulk around on stage kicking at the water like a 6 year old kid having a  temper tantrum. It's so not endearing in any way shape or form from a  guy who's almost 50. At least when he was in his 20's you could use the excuse that he was acting out in his "rebelious youth". Now he's just an old man acting like a  baby.

I'll quietly predict that whenever this US tour ends that'll be the last we hear from Axl for a VERY long time. Just a  prediction and yeah some will say that's  overreacting and it's too early for predictions but the same people will always say it's "too early" to predict anything. They're called predictions so you make them before hand.  the only thing that saves this anymore is new material in the form of an album. New live songs aren't gonna cut it anymore I don't think. It would be cool but it's not what's gonna right the ship. It's like last night was the sailing of the new era ship. Funny thing is the ship has never even really left the dock.  The fans support this band for so many years and hold on to faith that eventually they are gonna get something really great and then last night happens? I don't get it.

If I had my say I'd say screw the US tour and just record an album as a band, as friends(if they are even that). Yes I get the folks in the States want a US tour and quite frankly this may be the last one but I agree with tejastech08 it's time to call it a day. Hole up in the studio record some music, create a body of work not  that of the old band and then maybe down the road tour your songs in smaller venues on your own merrit with a new name. Gee the name "Axl Rose" might work even.  Stop with the Guns N' Roses farce.

If he was in a bad spot, why not just yell into the mic "Rio help me out" and let the crowd sing the lyrics.... i mean 90k... shouldn't be a problem

anyway yeah there were a few fuckups and miscues but damn was still a good show overall imo...maybe my standards are lower than the rest of you fuckers...or myabe you are all crazy bastards for staying up all hours of the night to watch it...or for expecting new material cuz of some setlist of shady origins....i dunno i didnt expect all that shit so it was ok for me...Axl is even pretty into it at the end of PC...headbanging stomping and spinning the steering wheel mic stand....you crazy doomsayers need to fucking relax man..maybe give it a day or two and watch it again or something...it really wasnt nearly as bad as y'all made it out to be

peace out

Detroit are completely overrated

they beat an avg TB team... Two worst teams in the league KC and Minnesota.. had to come from behind to beat Minnesota and Dallas choked that game away more than Detroit WON it.

Wait till they get some tougher teams... They are 9-7 at best.

ok....ycbm is just starting for me as i type this...and i really have to say in all honesty that up til now this gig is pretty good....band sounds really good...and axl is not bad for the most part but yes noticible vocal hiccups (lack of breath) throughout especially on faster tunes, but all in all its not a bad performance up til this point...in all honesty...the video and sound is pretty sweet on these vids

i want that GNR wristband that Richard has! thats f'n cool...anyway

is it just me or has axl gone back for oxygen less than normal during this thing? (ha jsut as i said it he took for a breather)

as the tour progresses Axl's vocal stamina will get better, and hes fightin through it so i'm not too concerned tbh....at the end of YCBM Axl gives a bit of a "god damn" 16

surely u hear that helium 2002 voice........
