I think Frank Frazetta did the poster for “The Gauntlet.” If not it definitely drew inspiration from his work and delivered a classic.

They stole the bad guys shooting up a building scene for an episode of “The Mandalorian” but did not do as good a job. The original is still the best.

Chinese democracy starts … when?

This is the most dystopian shit I have seen yet online:

When the leaks began I always imagined “TWAT” being the opening track of the album. “Do you want to know it all now?” seemed like a statement of purpose, a warning of what was to come. The slow build to that screamed finale just captures all of the drama GNR epics are known for.

And yes: It is hard as hell to sing along to, which makes for a great recording but challenge on stage. He gives himself no pauses to catch his breath. To be able to do so more than 20 years after he laid down the vocal is a real feat.

Listened to those soundcheck clips again. It's really hard to tell....it could be Oklahoma...or something else. We needed a longer clip.

I remember someone "INSIDERY" (MSL maybe?)  mentioned that "The General" might be actually a combination of a bunch of ideas explored in the instrumental demos on the rough mix CDs, So i wouldnt be shocked if that rehersal clip from last year turned out to be part of the general

Good to see you here!

Has anyone come up with an explanation of how “Thyme” and “PRL” fit together?

I always forget about Braveheart.

This reminds me of the debates in the early-mid 2000s about whether or not he had the rights to use the MLK clip in the song...and this might be what was holding up the release. 16

Man...the things us fans would come up with to justify the delays....    18

Actually, there could be something to the rights. Supposedly his estate is really restrictive.

But the solution there would have been to save it for CD2 or a b-side.

By the way, with a good two dozen cool as hell leftovers, couldn’t they have released some singles with “Going Down” or other cuts on the flipside? Actually reward fans and make an effort to get a hit single?

I know.

The week ahead could be good. If we get 6 tracks, which seems to be the most optimistic prediction, they will give the set list a jumpstart and make so many of us happy.

If they release two songs it’s probably time for the community to fundraise for some leaks so we can finally hear CD2 and all go home.

While waiting to see if we get new songs I've been tracking down the soundbytes from "Magagascar" and using them as bookends for ChiDem CDs. Still need to get a few more (and then find the clips for "Dub Suplex" and  "Devious Bastard" ... will add those when I get them) but here you go:

Mississippi Burinng ("I'm gonna tell you a story"):

Mississippi Burning ("It's taught"):

Martin Luther King ("I've heard the thunder roar"):

Seven ("Fear"):

Casualties of War ("Maybe it matters more than we know"):

Braveheart ("I don't want to lose heart"):

I'm guessing it's some kind of leak strategy via management also.

Sounds good indeed - is that Axl sampled and patched in there? I'm guessing he wasn't present at soundcheck...

Thank you for validating my thought/concern: Axl’s vocals sound like they are lifted directly from the studio recording.

I just want some new vocals we never heard before!

They play Spain in the days ahead. If we get something new it makes sense they would play it at the start of the European shows.

So, I went back through old threads. This is the text of an email MSL claimed to have gotten a copy of, sent by TB. Presumably “V” means vocals but we don’t know if that means vocals are still needed or complete:

Subject: CD2
Cuban Skies V
The General Ch V
Atlas L
Soul M V
Silk H
Thyme L
Pro2 V
Chi2 D V?
Better2
TIL2 V
Goin Down
Tonto V Br
Monstrocity V lyr

Perhaps ?

Saw an interesting comment on YT, posted for one of the storage locker leaks:

David Lunn

The reason you have those leaks is people like me chipped in for them. I heard and had them the night they leaked. Please dont make assumptions about what I have and havent heard

If David is here, first off, THANK YOU for helping us to hear these tracks.

It would be great to get some clarity on what really did go down: how you and the other fans were first told about the CDs, what occurred as far as getting together to fund the effort, what exactly happened the day that the mp3s were purchased, etc. What we have heard is pretty confusing
and doesn’t make total sense.

I do wonder if some of what we said reached the band or it’s associates. If so — thanks for listening. New music will kickstart GNR fandom in a way it deeply needs.

James, in a worst-case scenario that we do not get songs, what are your plans? Shut this place down or assign other admins? As many of us have said in the past, thank you for running this site.
