Ive said for years u have these fucking groupie fans on GNR forums whose sole purpose is to try and get the attention of the band. People kiss ass and hope maybe they will get that golden email inviting them to a show or a tour or an afterparty, so they pander with every post etc.

I think thats what happened to Madison and possibly Eric.

Madison use to go to GNR shows and stuff correct? Then didn't something happen and she no longer got those invites? She got pissed and started the GNR "rumors"

I wonder, if after this latest go round, if Eric was informed maybe he no longer would be getting the hookup, therefore said fuck it, i don't want a forum if im not gonna be rewarded?

If someone runs a fan forum hoping for financial gain, they are delusional.

Like I said as well, anyone would be extremely stupid for not choosing door number one.

But that doesn't mean Jarmo and his antics have not been one of the worst things that has happened to the GNR forum community.

I agree 100 percent BUT without those antics, maybe no door number 1 to choose.

U think Axl gives a shit about whats fair, freedom of speech etc?
U think he honestly wouldn't give Jarmo the boot in a second if things weren't ran that way?

im personally sometimes surprised we still got a VR section on there even though its no a sub board.

Well, that forum was pretty shitty imo. it was good for a few laughs here and there but there is a HUGE difference in freedom of speech and just flat out letting trolls run amok.

Ive had tons of public disagreements with Jarmo etc but then i sit back and think to myself.........

going on tour with band, hanging with band, having the time of ur fucking life OR impressing a bunch of internet dudes ill never meet or know personally and keeping my net rep fully protected..

I'd love to sit here and say, FUCK GNR, I'm gonna do shit my way but C'mon, hang with Axl,GNR and party with groupies, stay in 5star hotels, travel the world, or impress u guys....

Im sorry but Im taking door number 1 all day, everyday.

I still hang around for a few reasons:

1. VR section and the sports section.

2. I just feel if i leave, they ran me off and they win.

3.I met my fiancee on that site, so i guess part of me still has a sense of nostalgia etc for that place since that site was a HUGE part in the path my life has taken, which was WAY better than it would've been had i not started posting there.

So I am sort of a figurehead there, ill still set someone straight when it comes to Slash etc, try to be the voice of reason, but i don't care enough anymore to really get into those knock out fights.

how i haven't been banned is a complete mystery to be honest.

Actually, Axl is PRECISELY the definition of a perfectionist.

Alot of people don't know this, but perfectionism is a personality disorder, that is a sub-category of... you guessed it Maddy - 'Obsessive Compulsive'.

Alot of people assume that people who are diagnosed as a 'perfectionist', that assume the word 'perfectionist' and the diagnosis go hand-and-hand with each other.

Not so.

There is the 'good' kind of perfectionism, where people are tidy cleaners, get work done ON TIME, keep track of every single detail, and execute perfectly, and rarely is it a disorder that interferes or derails their daily life.

THEN... there's the 'bad' kind of perfectionism. The bad kind is a form of Obsessive Compulsive PERSONALITY Disorder (not to be confused with OCD), and people under these guide lines are...

Procrastinators
Have an unobtainable standard, which immediately set themselves up for failure
An "all or nothing" attitude
Set goals based on others around them
Doubt their ability to accomplish tasks
Agonize over mistakes

And there are many more. Sound like anyone familiar? But the "all or nothing" attitude is very important, because it structures the entire psyche of the perfectionist. Your attitude is structured of "if I can't do this perfectly, then I shouldn't bother to do it at all". Kind of like release an album. Problem is you spend so much time procrastinating, because you're trying to strive for perfection, that by the time you get to the very end, what you are doing has become a bastardized version of your original goal, and the perfection goal is lost. THEN, you consider yourself a failure, because you didn't obtain the perfection, which almost ALL perfectionists, true perfectionists, the 'maladaptive'/'negative' kind deal with.

Perfectionists are notorious also for tardiness to work, events, or projects, as well as turning in reports late, and requesting extended deadlines. Sound like anyone familiar?

Everyone is open to their own opinion, because Psychology is a science and theory. But I believe Axl is a perfectionist.

Why? Because I have some background educationally in Psychology, and I was diagnosed as a 'perfectionist' at one time.

shit, u just described me to a T.

You can call me Dr. Gas.....I agree with D. No perfectionist would have ever allowed the record to be released the way it was.

For the record, i never said Axl ever said he was a perfectionist. I just hear that thrown around a lot on GNR forums to try and rationalize certain behaviors. I don't think anything he does classifies as being a perfectionist.

the NR orchestra isn't necessarily done out of perfectionism, just more obsessive with getting it absolutely right. maybe similar in some ways but Axl had no problems getting albums out back in the day. AFD came out, the Illusions were delayed cause of 'Procrastination" and butting heads moreso than perfectionism imo.

This is one of those things that gets told so many times it somehow becomes factual. I just am not sure I buy the whole "Axl takes forever cause he is a perfectionist" line we have all repeated a million times.

Reasons being, no way a "perfectionist" releases the Oh My God demo as the first new material heard from the band.

no way Axl allows some of the versions of the songs that ended up on CD to come out that way. Some sound like Demo vocals "SOD,Maddy,Catcher etc" not to mention the no release strategy, the terrible booklet etc.

Also, live, GNR have the worst luck with production, mixing, sound.  Axl doesn't sound check, a perfectionist would soundcheck himself crazy.

A perfectionist, also, would have to have shows go off with as little going wrong as possible. we all know GNR shows can be quiet the train wreck with late starts and the above mentioned "technical" issues.

Axl is a "P" word, but it isn't perfectionist. Axl in my opinion is the ultimate "procrastinator"
Look up each word and tell me which one best fits.l

As far as Chinese Democracy taking so long. I honestly don't feel it had to do with being a perfectionist, I am convinced that it mainly had to do with finding the right band, right chemistry and writing the right songs.

I, to this day, still think the material just didn't measure up to Axl's liking and it took so long based on that and the procrastinating nature of Axl's recording habits. He admittedly didn't spend all that time recording or working. He also mentioned in that Abu Dhabi interview how the old stuff was hard to live up to in not so many words.

so if u can show me how he is a "perfectionist" please do so. I am sticking with procrastinator and maybe sometimes a bit insecure and a little of the band unable to produce what he considered GNR worthy material.
