I dont, I hope the new material is contained in a sealed vault, or even better - under Axls mattress.

I'm glad to hear the guy got off though, I thought he was treated like shit by the authorities, they were waaaaaaay to heavy handed in how they dealt with him.

Back around the time of his original leaks, MSL posted about his long phone call with Beta, I remember people were calling him an liar and full of shit because he said he was taken aback to hear how hung up on Slash the GNR camp still were. People were saying, "oh thats bullshit man,  as if they really give a flying fuck about Slash anymore these days".

Fast forward a couple of years and Axl himself proved MSL right by banging on and on and on about Slash, during his brief armchair Chinese Democracy promotional campaign.

Started work in a new garden today and the owner dropped by at lunchtime, I had my portable radio on quite loud listening to Rock Radio and Back In Black was playing.
He said, " oh, if you had started here a couple of weeks ago I could have gave you tickets to the AC/DC concert, I couldnt make it and I couldnt get rid of them."

The main reason I have respect for MSL is I have seen him verbally attacked and abused by loathsome, pubeless little fuckwits on most GN'R forums and not once have I seen him stoop to their level in his responces.

Honestly, if people said shit to me the way they do to him, I would be plotting mass fucking murder.

I'm awaiting what happens with interest, he may well suprise us all by being completely open and honest about what he knows about with regards to future plans. Like most people however I'm predicting non committed, vague answers and generally tip toeing around that ever so prickly subject of Guns N' Roses.

Yeah MSL is a cool cat, I enjoyed his past yarns and he is the guy who wangled the old demos for gnr hardcore fans, when noone else had even came close, at a time when there was apparantly absolutely nothing on the horizon.
I think these days are different though, when those first MSL leaks happened it seemed harmless, but in hindsight I reckon they hurt the album for GN'R. While I loved the demos at that time, it really happened at a time when things seemed hopeless. The new album was just released last year and there is supposed to be a follow up, I'd really hate for the new batch of songs to be floating around on youtube for any period of time before the album is officially released.
I will be avoiding like the plague any new leaks other than alternate versions of Chinese Democracy songs, I view anything like those as merely scrapped versions of the final CD songs and they wont do any harm to the band, or my own experience of the new album.

Axl managed to keep his drug and alcohol use "recreational" and never became an addict. I dare say there was a fair bit of charlie floating around backstage and he would have helped himself when the notion took him, but I dont think he ever fell into the addiction trap of taking cocaine on waking etc.
I remember reading how in the early days the only time he would take downers would be to help him sleep if he was really struggling to settle down.
I dont even remember reading about Axl being drunk back in the day, no doubt he would have partied hearty with the best of them but I think he kept himself in check for the most part.
I agree with D, I've been there myself and its no fun hanging out with alcoholics and druggies day in day out when you are straight and sober. I was at the end of my tether years ago with some of the guys I grew up with, and it was only when I cleaned up we drifted apart, it was buds for life beforehand.
I think Axl is still partial to the odd upper, the pictures from the London after show accoustic performance showed him with pupils like saucers, I think he was on speed or something. Thats a bastard of a come down off that shit and sure enough he never finished the next show, he became ill with "low blood pressure". tongue

I remember Axl Rose being famous for being a dickhead back in the early 90's, he was one of the most disliked people in pop culture.
I reckon he is sore about Slash more than anyone else because Axl has lived a very quiet unassuming life in the last 15 years or so, and he probably hoped to leave behind that stigma of being a spoilt premadonna douchebag.
But Slash stayed in the public eye over those years, giving interviews and blaming Axl for him not being in GN'R anymore, and basically feeding the fire and constantly reminding the public (or suggesting) who the bad guy in GN'R was.
Therefore Axl was never really allowed to leave that persona behind, no matter how many years he spent in seclusion and out of the public eye. I'll bet he has a deep resentment of Slash because of that, it must be tough being a middle aged guy and the media still chastising you for some of your behaviour in your twenties. All of these "Axl is an asshole" headlines over the years have not came from anyone he has worked with post 94, and thats really hard on the guy. I dont blame him for being sore with the media either, they are the ones who kept regurgitating those old tales which basically demonised him and made sure he remained a hate figure.
I think we all know Axl is a sensitive guy, so all the negative comments and sly digs made at his expense over the last 15 years or so when he has been living that quiet lifestyle, must really have hurt him and some of the wounds will have went deeper than others.
