#242 Re: Guns N' Roses » Axl's net worth....Article Sept 2012 » 713 weeks ago
i don`t know about those figures...
according to the same website:
slash - 32 million$
How does Axl supposably have $150 million and Slash only has $32 million? Slash branded himself very well post-GnR, whereas Axl was a trainwreck.
I did expect Axl to have more $$$ b/c im sure he got the majority of the GnR $, but I expected Slash to be in the $100 millon range if Axl is worth $150 million.

That would actually work if it was the right material. Axl singing the hook to a angry eminem song would work out. Maybe a dark eerie piano beat as well.
I could see it. Migh actually sound good. I still think M&Ms best song si Stan where he sampled Dido. Eminem feat. Axl Rose would be a massive hit. My guess is it'd get so much hype just based on who's collaborating together then the material would do the talking
The Run/DMC-Aerosmith bit is obviously the prime example of what could happen, but with the kinds of rap/hip-hop being made nowadays, I don't see very much success

Could do a 21st century Run DMC/Aerosmith thing with Eminem.
Paradise City, let Em rap over the music, Axl sing the hook.
How could Eminem possibly make a great song even better......with rap? I'm not buying it

War and I went to the Vikings-Jags game, one of the greatest Vikings game I've seen in years. With 20 seconds left, Jags get TD and 2PT Convo to take 3 point lead. VIkings find a way to score a 55 yard FG with a rookie kicker to go into OT. Rest is history

Yeah so how bout that Giants-Cowboys game a couple nights ago. I was surprised the Cowboys kept the lead and won. Also surprised at how little points the Giants scored. Gotta give credit to Romo, he played pretty well!

True, but you also mentioned that the content of the music was why Gn'R couldn't be as good as Zeppelin, but they managed to write just as good material outside of the songs that talked about living on the street
But the songs were written at a time when the band was hungry. Once they got rich, they lost their songwriting edge.
GnR never made another album, outside of a cover album, after the Illusions. And the only thing we have to go off of to say that they lost their song writing ability is all the individual material everyone wrote post-GnR. I think if GnR collectivity made another album after the Illusions that it would be pretty damn good!

I think that Guns could have reached Zepplin status, and I don't think that becoming rich had a whole to do with it. They were rich when they made the Illusions and there is pure gold in those albums
