I just want to hear rasp on YCBM in the summer tour. If he can rasp the fuck out of AC/DC stuff, then he should do it on YCBM as well.

Why do GNR need to promote shows when their tickets are selling like Wonka bars containing golden tickets? Only reason to promote would be if each stadium started building new sections for more seats and since second shows are having to be added due to the insane demand, those tickets would sell with no promo anyways.
Everyone knows they are back but you want them to announce they are back? When 80 year old grandmas know you're back, you don't need to do extra promo.
The don't need to promote shows - but it's a very long way from that to a promoter actively forbidding them from giving interviews - which is what was suggested by someone.
If the promoter knew how big demand is and they damn well knew the level of tension between the band members at one point (not to mention Axl's volatility), is it really that shocking to think they might be under a gag order? Promoters are putting a lot of money on the line for this thing. Axl's mood this entire year (very happy) and his behavior with AC/DC doesn't suggest to me that he is afraid to speak. That's why I am starting to believe it's a big "cover your ass" thing from the promoters to make sure nothing gets miscommunicated between the band members in public.

A writer from The Guardian who previously posted a column begging Angus to retire the band name has just posted a 5/5 star review for the Lisbon show. He was very impressed with Axl's performance.
The only thing I disagree with him on is that I don't think Axl was TOO respectful of the Brian songs, he was simply singing his ass off the way the songs require. I'm blown away that Axl can pull off that incredible rasp on Thunderstruck, Back In Black, Hells Bells, and For Those About To Rock after the last 15 years of Mickey Mouse vocals.

Given the good mood Axl is in and the amount of publicity he is doing for AC/DC, I am starting to think GN'R has a gag order from the promoters and not from Axl. Considering the amount of money at stake, I guess I wouldn't blame the promoters for not wanting any of them to open their mouths and possibly create tension with the other band members.

Is this a good idea? I mean, GNR just got back together and he's talking about replacing Brian long-term.
Slash is still doing Conspirators stuff. Duff has other projects going on too. Why can't Axl do the same?

Axl Rose acting like a normal rock star, what is the world coming to.
With AC/DC Axl has some leverage. His star power is what enables promoters to go on with the tour after the loss of the lead singer. He's getting a fair share if he wants it.
Of course he has leverage. I'm just not sure he's playing those cards given the fact it's a dream job for him.

Definitely, by percentage, he is not getting 50% of the revenue. Not even 33%.
What I was pointing to is the DOLLAR amount per show. He has way less costs with ACDC, since he only has to be there and not run all the GNR machine, that is still under his expenses (techs, equipment, instruments loans, etc.)
That is a fair point. Taking out expenses, he probably nets around 30-35% with GN'R. But I doubt Brian was getting more than 30% from AC/DC and once you account for the bigger overall payday for GN'R vs. AC/DC (higher ticket prices should mean bigger guaranteed revenue from the promoter), I think he is still clearing quite a bit more with GN'R than with AC/DC. He might even be doing this AC/DC thing for peanuts (10% or less) for all we know. He probably would do it for free if that was the only thing on the table from Angus. We're talking about a guy who worships Angus, so to Axl it's a huge honor to play with Angus and not necessarily some big cash grab.
