Is it just me, or does Slash kinda look like he's been lifting weights with his old pal Zakk, lately?
#274 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Apocalyptic Love FAN reviews » 721 weeks ago
It looks like I may have to give this the full review treatment... It's weird, cuz other than this album, I've been on an exclusive doom/stoner rock kick for a week. Usually, listening to shit like Earthless, High On Fire, Pentagram, and Dead Meadow would, in comparison, make Apocalyptic Love sound cheesy, relatively...:peace:
Not the case at ALL... In fact, I'm now considering a trip to the Boston House Of Blues to see these sons of bitches live in August...

I previously thought Matt Sorum was the epitome of lame.
This Vince Neil shit that Axl Rose is pulling is uber lame.
Let's party with hired escorts (basically they are higher paid escorts, let's get that out there) and it is pathetic.
Maybe if he didn't hire the women and was actually into a lady that was 20 or whatever you know what all the power, but this is borderline pathetic in my opinion.
Anyhow, just another sad chapter in the "Why are you wearing a hat?" Axl Rose slip sliding to irrelevance, oh wait he already arrived at that destination a few years ago.
The hat is proof that the cornrows were a weave...:haha:

This is good time to be a Slash fan.
I'm sorta starting out... I haven't been this excited about Slash since 5 O'Clock

Fuck. Yes.
#278 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Apocalyptic Love FAN reviews » 722 weeks ago
I pay attention and dissect everything Slash, Prince and John Frusciante does. they are my big 3 guitarist.
Used to Richie Sambora till Jon neutered him.:headbang:
Dude... I flat out REFUSE to listen to the new Chili Peppers record.
No John... No Furbush.
#279 Re: Guns N' Roses » May 19th Nottingham » 722 weeks ago
"The label holding him up" is a fucking chickenshit cop out...
He could release anything, at any time... On his own. Just don't call it "Guns N' Roses".
Realistically, it wouldn't be, anyway...
The more I listen to Apocalyptic Love, the more I am convinced that it doesn't matter what you call it...
Whether you call the cup Reese's or not, it's still delicious...
Axl and Slash is like peanut butter and chocolate.... Yeah.. they're pretty good on their own... Chocolate ain't bad with caramel... PB is pretty good with Fluff...
Together... That's magic.
And, yes... I let the little fucker get under my skin. Christ... I worshipped these guys for my entire adolescence... They were better than those other shitty bands... And, now the other shitty bands are making them look like a joke.

I think some of you owe a debt of gratitude to those who complain about the setlists. Think about it. If it weren't for those types of posts what the fuck would you have to talk about right now? Hate to say it but I don't see team positive flooding the board with posts about how great, how progressive, how creative, how "moving on" these set lists are.
As for me I think the setlists are incredibly dull. From a fans perspective you want to see the band show some ambition and balls. Especially the former "most dangerous band on the planet". Same old setlist night after night, tour afer tour, year after year. This band is showing nothing and that's the point those who complain about the setlists are making.
This.
And, it's also the point for the people that scoffed when Mr. Rose stated that there would never be so much as a one off reunion, because doing so would undermine what "the new band is trying to accomplish"...
Fuck the the old band... Let's just play it safe and do by-the-numbers-cash-grab tours of Eurasia with the hired help. THIS is what's being accomplished.
Nothing More.
I think people getting upset about people "set list bitching" are missing the point. Axl tells anyone that'll fucking still listen that he is moving forward. From where I'm standing, playing essentially the same fucking 20 songs every other night in almost the exact same order with minor fluctuations from time to time, for several YEARS, with no other apparent activity, is NOT "moving forward".. By ANY definition.
It's called "spinning your fucking wheels". The tires are movin',pal... but you ain't goin' NOWHERE.
Next thing you know, he'll be suing 5agge...
