I will say this again
I do Love Buckethead but he is NO SLASH
Can he play faster than Slash? YES
Does playing fast mean anything int he grand scheme of riff writing/solo writing etc? Absolutely NOT
For people who even try to make this ridiculous argument, are u gonna tell me Shackler's Riff is anywhere near the ten best Slash riffs? It isn't even better than most of VR riffs.
so please, let's stop all that bullshit now with he being "Better"
The fastest player who can jump the highest in the NBA isn't the "BEST" player.
The fastest runner in Football isn't the greratest etc etc
there are so many intangible ingredients that are extremely overlooked.

I could hear Mother's Day on a UYI album with Axl singing over it with Duff like "So Fine"
#2973 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy Chart Positions Thread » 885 weeks ago
Hell, TBH I thought Axl was the weak link of the band in 02.

Madagas
Sure we arent experts or music lawyers but U tell me why they release a decade in the making album to the worst release strategy known to man with no videos, no promo, no tour ZILCH
Either Axl is the worst businessman/bandleader ever or UNI has him by the nuts and refuses to support it.
It doesn't take a Harvard Grad to realize something isn't right in GNR land.
Fuck Axl even said without saying it how shitty UNI treated the album.

the last song on the CD is great. it starts off like QOTSA but that outro where it kicks down slow..... duff has this amazing melodic thing he sings and it kicks so much ass.

Adler IMO is still the best GNR drummer ever.
his drum riffs on Appetite are fuckin great and u can hum his shit.
that is rare for drums

I fucking love this album
it hasn't left my CD player since I bought it.

"Universal has Guns under contract but I own the name."-Axl (assuming Dexter was Axl) 2008
Outside of that Axlin08, you know NOTHING about what UNI thinks of Axl, what promoters think of Axl and new Gnr, what Uni thinks about the back catalog, the current contract specifications, etc. Your post was one long rambling OPINION from your point of view. In other words, you don't know what the hell you are talking about and neither do I or Buzz or Mister ID or anyone else on these boards when it comes to discussing behind the scenes business and personal relationships between drug addled, extremely rich rock stars. How you guys can continually spout off about the same things over and over and over is well beyond me. Carry on.:peace:
We dont know exactly but if u piece things together that Axl has said and just the total clusterfuck this has been, mixed with similiar situations other bands like Motley Crue went through, u can come up with at least some damn good theories.
#2979 Re: Guns N' Roses » Revisiting the Billboard Interview » 885 weeks ago
Just sayin, Axl just seems to contradict himself.
Like with the Duff Collaboration
he talks how he'd get left doing this and that and all the blame which sounds like he is questioning Duff's work ethic
Duff has released a solo album or two, Put together loaded and released a damn good album "SICK" and was in VR and released 2 albums.... So what Axl says just doesn't add up a lot of times.
If Slash and CO were the problem, who the hell is to blame for this decade debacle goin on still?
get my point? If Axl put together a new band and was happy and releasing music and touring and active, I could more easily support his side of the story, but when he pretty much perpetuates the supposed "lies" over and over throughout the years, it gets pretty tough to defend him.
#2980 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy Chart Positions Thread » 885 weeks ago
Still though, GNR get the blame cause THEY and the label chose Best Buy cause they offered the most money
So I don't give them a pass for poor sales.
