When they all post the same thing I'm thinking they are using a script. Regular news media do it all the time as well. Not like this info is staring in your face just because you visit a forum.
Who generates the "script"?
It's usually a press release, some call it a news release, on PR NewsWire, the AP wire or mass emailed to journalists around the country. Clearly, there's nothing official coming from GNR except for social posts.
At any rate, the news is getting out there, and that's good.
And the reception is mostly positive. Good again.
Hopefully they keep the ball rolling.

Music writers who cover GNR have probably gotten used to relying on the forums considering there's little official help. I guess that's the case here again.

The official GNR site doesn't even have it up yet.
If I'm a music journalist, that's the first place I'd go. Bad look.
I say this, because of all those articles I posted above, many of them have the same talking points. Almost like they were pulled from a common source. Maybe all those music writers are deeply familiar with the song's history, but that seems unlikely.

I think he could sing it as well as some of the songs they routinely perform live (Better). But Absurd is easier for him to pull off I guess, so maybe that’s the reason they went with that song first. I’ll give them another shot to play it at the next show now that the song is actually released. If they don’t, we’ve seen this movie before. Going forward in reverse.
They don't play TWAT anymore, right? This song has a similar structure in that there's no room for Axl to breathe during the verses. I don't see him doing it well. I guess he could, but I imagine we'd be ripping him apart.

They definitely have a hit on their hands if they push it. It's essentially a classic GNR song... it's what people expect when someone says new GNR song.
When touring ends, they should hit the late night show circuit on both sides of the pond and push this to the moon.
But Axl would have to lipsynch it. I doubt he can pull it off these days.

I’m not sure what we’re expecting at this point. It sounds pretty damn good to me. More classic sounding than the Absurd turd. Casuals could embrace this.
If they actually put an ounce of effort into it, it could be a rock radio hit.

So do we give any credence to this?
It would be just like them if their only all-new recordings were covers.
Maybe live versions, but I can't believe they've recorded four covers in 2020 or 2021.
