You're exactly right...since the presidency is nothing more than a vote for homecoming king and queen now, we will absolutely have more of this type of thing. For the following reasons:

1) people don't know or care how to evaluate whether or not policies affect them and/or how they affect them.

2) it's more fun to implement policies that hurt others rather than help oneself.

3) the American people have extremely low approval rates for the government in general yet the keep sending the same assholes back. The reelection rate here is damn near 100% at federal, state and local levels. The American voter inexplicably takes no responsibility for this fact. It's always someone else's fault. It's the media's fault. It's Obama's fault. It's our politicians who don't take leadership roles. Well...what happens when you have a chance to replace these people? Nothing.

I’m not convinced that a cult of personality taking over any current party is any better than what we already have….other than Trumps tax cut that makes us more the Corporate States of America than United, all he did was bluster and take credit for things he had nothing to do with.

Especially when you consider that Congress is there to basically make sure nothing happens.

And when your campaign moto is basically‘own the Libs’ then all you have is a carnival barker.

My favorite part of all of it is that not a single one of your typical Trump supporters would ever be allowed in Mar-a-lago.

And Trumps debate style is straight out of a high school locker room….he basically taunts and yells over people but never really says anything except, ‘I’m awesome and you all suck.’

In a country whose only value left is money and the economy is based on ‘hooray for me and fuck you’ - this is the best we will ever get.

In a country that thinks Trump is a successful business man but somehow pays less income tax than someone who makes $35k/year, you can’t expect any really deep thoughts and analysis. You can’t really expect to reach people who simultaneously hate socialism but idolize a businessman who uses the US treasury as a mechanism for corporate socialism. Trumps business plans have intentional losses embedded into the financials. An unprofitable business by design. What a genius!

A bubble economy created by massive tax cuts and massive deficits creates an illusion among the rabid that he really was some kind of economic genius.

He’s a one trick pony who puts things on a credit he knows he never plans on paying anyway. The man is completely lacking in integrity and intelligence. And his constant self promotion is shameless.

At least more than one person had a say in NY.

It’s unfortunate that we don’t respect each other enough to play the game fairly but we’re loooong past that point.

It’s one of the few things I’m glad the Democrats are doing…at least there won’t be another decade of completely fabricated Republican representation while the Democrats sit back and eat it again.

Republicans are winning in many places over transphobia issues....they have no real stance other than that.
