Duff also expressed his unhappiness about that, wondering why the song writing credit read "Rose" on some songs when he and Slash worked hard at writing and creating their own parts.

Rolling Stone reporting the mystery of the phantom new gnr video.
I wonder if the myth of the Better video will grow and grow like the CD myth did, and in a couple of years in the minds of GNR fans it must be the greatest video of all time that will bring about world peace upon its release.

It speaks volumes about the organisation, that after the umpteen year clusterfuck making that album, weeks after the botched release of "the most anticipated album of all time" - that they decide to start tinkering around with live footage and piece together a video for a single - released weeks before.
Shrewd man, shrewd....
Of course, us bumpkins dont know anything about the turmoil and legal issues that are thrown in the face of their best intentions day after day, week after week, year after year, decade after decade yada yada fucking yada......ZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZ

I'm guessing CD fans however would be disappointed. Guns aren't going to be able to share a stage with Metallica with songs like Catcher, This I Love and Prostitute. I'm guessing to keep up with Metallica, it'd be a mostly rocker-heavy setlist.
Taking this with a massive grain of salt, but it'd be a great move... which means it won't happen in the world of GN'R.
I don't think they'd craft their setlist to cater to a Metallica crowd. They didn't for the Gods of Metal or whatever festival that was in 2006. Of course they got bottles of piss thrown at them and had to leave the stage, but when they returned they played the same setlist. With or without Metallica I wouldn't expect them to play a ballad heavy setlist.
That was Download, and Metallica played on a different night. It was a 3 day festival, Tool/Metallica/GN'R headlining each night.
It wasnt because of they music they got shit thrown at them, they played mostly classic GN'R, it was because of the dislike for Axl and the new band. But it was a minority, my freind was right down the front and thought they were awesome. He did say, "that bass player is a fucking dick" right enough.
Skippy - I never seen Teddy Zig-Zag, Tracy and Roberta or the red jacket in 06, and they wernt over polished. They were pretty badass actually, but the verdict from the Download festival was Metallica were in a different league from GNR. But then again, GNR were still quite rusty when they played that festival.
But Metallica already have a soldout tour this year don't they? Cant see this happening, I think they are just being polite.

I played This I Love on vinyl last night, and it sounded pretty nice. It had a wholesome, warm sound like the way my parents records sounded at their parties when I was a kid.
I.R.S suffers from inner groove distortion but it gives it a cool raw sound for a while, like its coming out of an old stereo. It loses its deep end completely nearer the end though, SOD sounds the same - the bass and drums just vanish and the treble and high sounds elevate, giving off the distortion. Pretty frustrating.

Is Axl really going to emerge in a few months with a new cover and try to flog this ?

Greatest Hits is a bit pointless when you have been a fan for years, thats why I dont count it. I guess young fans who discovered the band through GH might count it though.
I love their cover versions, I cant say I'd heard any originals off TSI, except hair of the dog, before buying it. So it was all new GNR to me.
TSI was a grower though, I didnt buy it and love it.
