Not in this thread guys, take it to PMs if you must continue going in circles.

There's nothing to take to PMs.  PMs caused this problem to begin with.  It's where they hide knowing nobody can prove anything.  This discussion has to be out in the open.  There is no other way.  Once you guys decided to close the thread to discuss it in one place, this is what you're going to get.  My advice: reopen one place to discuss it.  It's not going away.  It's not just going to be forgotten, so you may as well just let it be dealt with until a resolution can be made.

Just press the new thread button and dish the dirt and lets get it over with

How is liking a song "hypocritical"?

Yeah he also said he liked CD. Not that hypocritical at all. Can't help what you like. To say you don't like something just because you've got a moral opinion that you feel is important is a little bit.... american.

There's nothing baseless monkey.  Facts are facts and you're the only one (unfortunately) that can prove my claims.  Obviously you're not going to do that, so you tell half truths and leave out little details that would make you look bad.

Do you really expect me to believe that your pms to nu bono were just "hey, you're a good guy done wrong" or something to that affect?  Get real.

I KNOW what happened.  You KNOW what happened, but are choosing not to come clean.  You weren't alone in it.  Your little gang of bonolovers are all nowhere near as innocent as you claim.  You know it.  I know it.  Others here know it.

I'd say that's anyone's personal right, to refer to themselves as they please. What if, for example, a homosexual person would refer to all the straights as 'queer' as they dubiously copulate with the opposing sex, whereas the person himself is the epitome of straight in his own existence? Wouldn't the rest of us seem more or less deviant to him?

A Canadian in a room full of Americans can be viewed as 'not-American' by others, but to himself, he still comes out as 'Canadian' more than 'not-American'. There's two sides in everything.

Up to a point. Someone can call themselves whatever they like. That doesn't mean everyone else has to accept it or play along.

I saw Lambert singing with Queen last year – he was fucking phenomenal. One of the best gigs I've ever been to.

And yeah, I think that slating music audition shows makes May a hypocrite – given that Lambert got his big break from one of those very shows. As others have pointed out, they're now part of the culture to the extent that they're just another way for talented people to get their big break. And if he thinks that the music industry wasn't manipulative and exploitative before the advent of those shows, he really needs to take off those rose-tinted glasses.

Yeah I agree on both counts actually. He can be a bit of a hippy at times, can't he?

I have utmost respect to Brian but his case sounds bit hypocritical to me if he hates these lame ass singing competions so much, then why did he hire that American Idol fag to " replace " Freddie.

Not sure we have to use that term, but I agree with your overall point.  Also, didn't Brian May appear on American Idol last year?  Seems hypocritical.  Like when Slash spoke ill of the show yet he guest mentored on it.  You can't have it both ways.

Seems unfair. As a gay man he should be allowed to refer to himself whatever way he likes.

I think they picked Lambert for his vocal chops so fair enough.

Prohibition should be eradicated.
That siad substances should be controlled to a certain degree.

There are most definitely risks associated with weed. Bad weed is very very bad for you (mixed with other crap). Good weed not so much. There needs to be policing and QA

How do I know if a vinyl is "proper" or not?

Nowadays when a band cuts to tape and so has proper Vinyls, it tells you. Like the last foo fighter record was cut to tape, so they were able to crete good Vinyls off the back of that.  They made a big deal about recording to tape in the press, if you really want to know and the band hasn't been outwardly proclaiming they didn't record to a HD, you need to read the liner notes and see.

coming out soon...just hold tight. DJ's got it handled. He knows what a Gnr album should sound like.

Well he certainly knows what his solo should sound like. I mean, think about it. Axl let's him write it. dj

That he does. You can tell from listening to the guy play that he has studied the GNR sound inside out.
He gets a lot of shit for being a poser but when it comes down to it, it's about the music and DJ makes great music.

It's too easy to shit on the guy, but I would underestimate him at your peril, the ballad of death alone is proof he can do this album justice.

Izzys parts are missing, because it's known some of his takes weren't up to scratch, so Slash re-did them.

I'd like to know what version of UYI you're listening to, because on the version I have, the guitars are anything but muddy. Sounds nice and clear to me

It's not that clear. Slash's and Izzy's tones are very bass heavy. Nobody would ever describe the guitar parts on a GNR album post CD as clear. It's not an insult, no need to freak about it, it's just the way it sounds. In my opinion it's that lack of clarity that makes Izzy and Slash gel so well on that record. Every time you listen you hear different things in the mess.
