As most will probably recall, last year, in the week before Hard Skool was released, typing the song's name into Spotify brought up GNR. Now, apparently the same is true with State Of Grace in certain countries. So...new single soon?

No.

God bless him for trying his best, but he needs time off to recuperate.

Now more than ever they should lean on recorded work to keep them in the spotlight rather than endless nostalgia tours which destroy what is left of his vocal cords.

I’m sure he’d rather make hundreds of thousands to a million per show for showing up. And the thrill of playing.

I actually ordered a sweatshirt last night because this thread was talking about merch. I am the problem.

You could call it the high watermark of the old band. Not at their absolute best musically, but as a popular phenomenon they were at their peak. I always feel for Adler, imagine being kicked out at that moment. A lot of guys wouldn't survive that.

The way history is told, it doesn’t seem like he tried to survive it.

Patriots #1s have looked bad against their own #1s on D throughout the summer. Wasn’t sure if the offense was bad or the defense was good. But then the #1s looked bad against both the Panthers and Raiders backups. And all reports have been their offense has just not been able to get on track in camp.

Josh McDaniels left to coach the Raiders and they never hired an offensive coordinator to replace him. Instead, Matt Patricia is calling the plays, an ex failed head coach and former defensive coordinator. And Joe Judge is coaching the QBs, a failed head coach & former special teams coordinator. Plus they’ve installed a new offense this season. Needless to say, it’s not off to a good start. The optimistic view is they haven’t game planned yet & they’ll let Mac have more of a say once they get going. We will see. It just doesn’t seem like they’re well positioned heading into Mac’s 2nd year. Brady would be able to mask most deficiencies, but that’s a lot to ask of a 2nd year QB.

Their defense should be decent, but they were pretty good last year until they wilted at the end and they couldn’t stop anyone down the stretch. They need to improve against the run. They’ve been gashed the last two seasons. And I honestly don’t see any big improvements in that department. We’ll see.

They have a tough schedule to start. I think they’ll be lucky to go 1-3 out of the chute (@Miami, @Pitt, Ravens, @Packers). They have some winnable games in the middle and it gets tough again at the end.

Summed up nicely but I’d still go over 8.5 wins.

I like the song but I think it’s one of the few songs off of appetite that doesn’t really stand the test of time. Something about the production on the chorus that is so 80s.

Slash’s intro gives me chills every time.

#338 Re: GN'R Downloads » Slash/Chester - Crazy » 207 weeks ago

I never once believed VR would go on with a new singer. Not because of GnR reunion drama but because they maximized what they could with VR. What made people appreciate VR was the combination of the GnR guys with the STP guy, much like the Audioslave dynamic. If it became the GnR guys with a revolving door of singers it kills any perception that it’s a new, original band and interest wanes. Hell, I’m pretty sure Matt even mentioned in an interview post-VR that he was disappointed in the venues VR was playing. It was never going to work no matter who came in (though I love Chester).

Yeah but by then it was 2014. I don’t think Axl ever envisioned doing “up close and personal” tours or vegas residencies. I think what we don’t know is to what extent negotiations got. Also, conspicuous that it was after Slash’s divorce from Pearla that the reunion happened.

I would say the best counter to the belief that a 2006 reunion of *at least* Axl and Slash is that it took another decade to happen, despite Robin leaving and the impending end of Velvet Revolver. Honestly Axl needed it more (Slash stayed mainstream with pop acts and even played the Super Bowl with Black Eyed Peas) but I imagine Slash would have traded it for a 2010 reunion after CD came out and ran its course (if it ever ran a course at all).
