Sure. But reports of Axl's temper are voluminous.
Now, he seems unperturbed. Just rolling with it.
The fact that they stroke his ego helps, obviously.

Very laid-back Axl. Mind you, this was the guy who was arrested for causing a scene at a Phoenix airport in '98, and socked a paparazzi in '09.
Burying the hatchet with Slash seems to have given him a new lease on life.

Good review from MTV.
Should point out Duff is mentioned by name only once.
"Duff McKagan gets his moment to shine as well – he does the first verse of Johnny Thunders’s “You Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory” and segues it into The Misfits’s “Attitude” (a “The Spaghetti Incident?” cover)."
As meaningful as Duff is to the band, he can really get sidelined in the media.

as far as the screams in the middle - Axl didn't perform the super high note - from memory it's a g#6 or something insane like that. He sang that word a couple of notes lower yesterday.
Yup, the G6 is what gives me the chills. Just a great demonstration of Axl's vocal range - when he gets it right.
That said. It's an amazing performance anyway. Lets hope at some point later in the tour he nails it. It's worth noting that yesterdays version was well above 2014 levels.
Yes. In 2014, he was still on the rebound from that vocal low point of '11-'13. He was preserving his voice, skipping lines if it suited him. His focus was on powerful vocals instead of all vocals - a reasonable trade-off. But it's still recuperating the voice in public, which is less than ideal.
Obviously, he's been doing the work on the interim. Eversince the announcements came in, I said Axl would have to trailblaze his 2010 vocals to pull this one off - 2014 vox w/ Slash would be disappointing, because Slash would bring his A-game.
Currently, he's taken a big step in the right direction. Folks call the vocals good, period. It's going to be interesting - his foot injury and now, Axl/DC, have forced him to literally sit down and think long and hard about how his voice will manage. The man's in his mid-50's. He needs to keep it real.

If Atlas Shrugged were to get a summer release you could count on your fingers how many people would bring up which sessions it originated from.
"They're so much better with Slash back. I mean, Soul Monster, I heard the whole song was named after his solo. Cuz he's the soul monster, y'know?"

Of course I am happy. But, let's call a spade a spade. This is a cash grab tour....
They're being paid an obscene amount of money in today's standards. They'll take it. If you put it that way, I agree.
However, interest in a new Guns album just hit the biggest peak since '99. Axl's got an album in the can. Give Slash a week and he'll record quality solos to each and every track. One or two original tracks by this lineup and their King Animal is there.
Duff and Slash would love to do it. Axl's got very little to lose there.

Have they played 'I Think About You"??
Seems like a fun song to play live.
Love the way Izzy gives five to a row in one swoop in the end

Axl's got a fortnight after wrapping up Coachella to take on the highly lucrative Rock or Bust tour with Angus Young and AC/DC. He's stepping into some big boots - turning into the Buckethead of AC/DC, maybe. The way Brian Johnson has been rolled out the door in favor of Axl has undoubtedly put a lot the bands fans against Axl, even if most of the blame falls on Angus.
With any luck, Axl's ditched the Iron Throne by then. I'd expect him to be stationary for the most part, tho. He may actually be better off by letting Angus jump around and simply focus on delivering the vocals. I was wondering, whereabouts do we stand with these developments? Do you folks see this as the cherry on top of the big cake, or is it a terrible idea that may end up in tears?

to be totally fair, I understand his point of view - being in the band for how many... 17 or 18 years? with the aim of reinventing the band, but finally being able to push out only 1 album and end up frustrated with things going nowhere forward, only ending up with a partial reunion with return to the roots... not saying that I like the guy or something, he was always the most disposable member of the band, but still I understand his point of view and I'm not bashing him for it

You can leave with grace and dignity.
Thank you, Tommy, for '98-'14.
