Guns should be doing what QOTSA do - no frills r n' r n blow them all away.. but that's not how they have been since about '88 so we can't be too surprised at the reaction..

Couldn't hear any booing in the background sounded more like people singing along tbh. It'll all come out in the wash I suppose. Just dissappointing I was looking forward to watching some GNR tonight, this hour long show was basically going to be GNR live and instead we gotta watch filler like what's on now whilst I can hear Axl in the background.
i think in '06 when they did donnington it wasn't broadcast live but the recording was shown a few days later. maybe they want a similar set-up here.. is disappointing tho..

In the backround to where the presenters are sitting you could hear CD
yea it was a drag hearing CD but it was a drag listening 2 those bitchy presenters also. if i were GnR i wouldn't want to do their smartarse indie-centric shite show either. the black guy is a complete idiot & she gets wet over mumford & fucking sons bedwetter music.
"contractual dispute" i think she said..
GN'R deserve all the flak they get from this.
nah they don't. u guys are blowing it out of proportion IMO.
reading isn't all that.
the tv show is an hour long buried on a channel nobody watches.
there's a big indie presence @ this years (& last) festival & i think fri is the traditional indie- themed day @ reading (hard rock/metal headliners usually close the fest on sunday).
there is an overwhelming anti-axl presence in the media/bbc/indie-kid driven british market.
they haven't done themselves any favours of course.
it's just another disaster & wasted opportunity 2 add to the pile but it's not shocking or surprising & it's not the end of the world.
they had a horrible time @ donnington '06 which was a proper hard rock fest/audience & they showed up on time then. so.. some (all??) of it was broadcast on channel 4 i think..

Silliness, even they played a rubbish show, sales would went up 4000% odd of "Chinese Democracy"... here in the UK.
One of the biggest festivals in the world and broadcast on TV, but they don't want anyone to see it?
Even the cynics at the BBC would have broadcast several songs.
Mind blowing stupid, they have no ambition whatsoever.
i think u'r a little over ambitious. IF they'd let the show be broadcast it'd be an hours coverage or less on BBC3 & the red button & i would doubt even 1/4 of a million would be watching it & the stream woulda been viewed by a few dozen people. this dispute will garner more attn than a sensible & solid performance would have.
it's not like it was ever gonna be broadcast to millions of people.

"Guns N'Roses requested their performance not be broadcast"
From the horses mouth on BBC.
that's not a very nice thing 2 say about edith..

40mins? doubt it.. woulda thought their stage time was 10pm or 10.30 but if that's what people r saying then maybe so hopefully bbc3 mention it at least when their footage resumes in 5mins..

[speculation] would not be surprised if this was due to a personality clash between the 2 camps.. the beeb's music trendies are very much the kind of people who think GnR r uncool & axl a real baddie & are really condescending & misinformed..
& the GnR camp just said fk it 2 that smarmy unhelpful attitude.. [/speculation]
but hopefully they'll come to some arrangement over the weekend..

What a downer that song is in a live setlist. I could see it maybe if Axl was sitting at a piano, but pacing around the stage just doesn't seem to fit the song.
i'd like 2 see him on the keys 4 TiL also.
