#3551 Re: Guns N' Roses » Reading, United Kingdom - August 27, 2010 (Reading Festival) » 785 weeks ago
it's not that big a deal.
leeds'll be more dramatic 'cause of '02 i reckon. weird how they're not closing the reading leg.
maybe the leeds one will be the one broadcast on the red button.
not surprised 2night's not being broadcast.. something about the bbc mixing with Guns does not feel right (the shitty attitude a lot of british media/public is apparent - even on the clip they aired @ the start askin fans who they're looking fwd 2 seeing & the had 2 include a clip of one fan saying "GnR - IF THEY TURN UP")..
but they did Rock Am Ring '06 which was good.
still i'm sure it'll be a real fun show despite the disappointment of it not being on tv.
they'll maybe replay it on red button 2moro.. i think coverage increases from sat - mon if i remember correctly last yrs beeb coverage..

Truth = beating a dead horse
really? this reads to me like speculation, not truth:
Oh my god. Are you serious? IF this was done intentionally to create buzz like some had suggested then it's fucking soft. Gn'R/Axl never ahd to conjur up ways to build buzz so if this is what he's lowered himself to it's hilarious and it's so not "Rock n' Roll" Axl Rose follows his own patterns to a tee and it's to the point that it makes you think he's maped it out. Basically if they did this on purpose it's sucha sad joke that Axl's badass image is scripted. If you can't understand that I can't help ya.
it's just the standard predictable Axl fucking up always.
& then there's this constant declaration:
What's funny is I don't care at all.
When your schtick becomes old people move on and that's what's happen.
now i actually agree with a lot of what you guys say:
He's become boring and predictable.
All of you guys, even the ones who still go out to shows, deserve better than what you get. Your underappreciated, and underloved.
BUT the bitching and naysaying is even more boring and predictable than the setlists.
all this blame & speculation placed @ axl's door, this time, is out of proportion to what has ACTUALLY went down. & people just will not let it go until they've hammered home their speculative points of view trying to alienate everybody against a band they love for no real reason other than they've got five minutes to kill..
godforbid there was an internet or GnR msgboards back in '92..

as to the speculation on Ron leaving and where his anger is directed in that email, we dont know what he was replying to and what management he was referring to? maybe it was the festival organizers? but know we assume that there is tension in the band...the situations never change only the faces...here is an old lyric from Dont Damn Me that seems appropriate for this discussion
I know you don't wanna hear me cryin'
An I know you don't wanna hear me deny
That your satisfaction lies in your illusion
But your delusions are yours and not mine
We take for granted we know the whole story
We judge a book by its cover
And read what we want
Between selected lines
what about "what we've got here is failure 2 communicate..."??
amazin how little has changed in the GnR world (& amazing the reactions of fans shocked @ lack of change - that quote's been used twice & could be on another new song it's so perversely relevant)

bono, have u moved on? a lot of ur most recent posts brought 2 mind the old say about "if's & but's". reads 2 me like u'r beatin a dead horse..

lol - i thought he'd quit reading that headline! cheeky neemo..
#3556 Re: Guns N' Roses » World Tour Cancelled? » 787 weeks ago
well this has been the craziest most bizarre 24 hours in the GnR world in a long time... a couple of months at least..
#3557 Re: Guns N' Roses » World Tour Cancelled? » 787 weeks ago
I hope he is not referring to me. I asked him what was going on and he told me. Then I emailed him back and asked if it was ok to post on the forum, and he said it was fine. I hope he doesn't think I took that and used it to start shit. That most certainly wasn't my intention.
fwiw i doubt it's your msg he's referring to. that was simple & innocuous, there'd be nothing that could be misconstrued or used against him, you or the band. it's a different topic he's discussing here.

OK, now someone's stirring up shit by spreading a personal email I wrote. I'll sum it up: don't leave a crowd waiting in the cold for 2 hours with no info, tell them something, give them something.
Shit happens, 'late' happens, I've been late before, not pointing fingers, this is about taking care of the *audience*. When an audience is at a point of hate, trying to hurt us, the crew, the gear, something isn't right. I'm hoping next time, I/we/someone will let the crowd know wussup and to hang tight.
Are you kidding me?? This dude is like the most fan friendly guy to ever grace this band. Why on Earth would someone start shit for him??
So, is that a shot at Axl or the fucked up schedule?
Still doesn't sound all peachy in the GNR camp.
by summing up he just opened more questions. i don't think it's a shot at axl but rather a reference to the sturgis gig/problems.
but i definitely don't think things are peachy in the GnR camp. there's bound to be too much frustration (i'd imagine) for them all to be singing from the same hymn sheet.

I'm still going to go to the show, more as an afterthought now
I still love his music and his lyrics though and he'll always be my favourite artist.
I have no respect for his lateshows though, never have, or the stonewall silent treatment GNR reguarly gives their fans whenever it suits them. Theres no need for it, its downright rude, disrespectful and its completely deliberate. How they can believe thats a decent way to conduct their relations is beyond me.basically I look at the unnecessarily shitty way GNR reguarly conducts its relations with its fanbase through more cynical and unforgiving eyes than I might have in the past.
tbh with u i was actually kinda glad when i thought the shows had been cancelled - it'd have saved me a lot of money, money that i coulda spent on weed.
now though i am kinda glad to be going. much more than i was after the sturgis setlist. dunno why. maybe it's that the silliness is back. or maybe it's genuine relief. i dunno. hopefully it tickles them into kicking into a higher gear the next few shows they do.
agree with all this.
the last part - i am ultra-cynical but also full of forgiveness. at the end of the day, as u know, there are more important things in life than GnR n axl. nobody died so anything else is just life & it's just fun & just an experience. like oasis say u just gotta roll with it. i've known for a long time the way GnR conducts it's business & i haven't been happy about it, but at least it's not the end of the world. and it is still more mad than any other band - for some people that's a bad thing, me i think it's good fun. i genuinely don't know if i'd be such a fan of the band if it weren't for the crazy times they & we go thru.

They're just in limbo now because not one person associated with Guns N' Roses cares enough to use any of the mentioned outlets to clear this up for them?
Expected? Yes. Tolerable for me anymore? No.
fair enough. i see where u are coming from & agree it is a lame way to conduct themselves.
