Mad Max Fury Road

Was really good ... managed to keep the general flavor of the orig trilogy and add a modern twist

Funny I just got done watching it with my dad. I've seen it three times already. Twice in theaters. Definitely my favorite movie of this year so far. Hopefully Star Wars can top it.

The Babadook. Holy hell was that disturbing. Really gets under your crawl. And unlike all the Blumhouse shit, it's actually pretty scary. No CGI either, which blows my mind.

I enjoyed the movie as well. It was a Kickstarter funded project. I think it was the director's first movie too. I still need to see It Follows. It's on demand; so I may pick a day with friends and watch it. It's been getting high praise.

Riad. Barely listen to that track and I feel it's the weakest song on the record. Slasherr did do a pretty sweet video for it showing the 2002 footage though.

GNR website sucks and paying for a website or fan club in general is a dead medium. They have subreddits that feature band content and even band members themselves stopping by and answering questions if they have the time. Which is just a better environment overall.

Why a poser? he went thru the LA rounds to get to where he is...maybe his image is a bit fabricated, but it works, doesn't bother me, I met and talked to him after one GnR show (London 2011 I believe) he was a really cool down to earth guy, no pompousness or arrogance, didn't try to sell me any of his gear lol 16 ... he was like someone I could hang with

That's why social media should be avoided at all costs 16 in my experience ... what you see on there rarely reflects the real person especially if that person is a celebrity ... they have an image to maintain for public consumption ... whatever they chose that image to be ... if its even them posting the shit to begin with ... dude makes a living off music and selling "swag" its no different than seeing a commercial for doritos or whatever...the sale media he uses just isn't a television

Ron and DJ were my favorite guitarists in this band since Slash left ... just sucks ... but hey, par for the course

perhaps I was too optimistic to think the revolving door had stopped turning ... that'll teach me

I know this wont sway anyone's opinion of the guy...just my perspective 19

That's really cool to hear man. I didn't have issues with DJ either to be perfectly honest.

Im still curious to see what's in "the vault" I can't imagine that there is much that we haven't heard from the classic lineup...would be really cool if there was an album of material unheard tho from the 90s

I wanna hear all the "big guns" or whatever the unused cd tracks were referred to as...lol. Soul monster, the general...etc

Yeah I certainly want CD II more than anything else but I really want ALL those old GNR demos in HQ even if they have nothing we haven't heard.  Was mentioned earlier but there are 2 TSI tracks we never got so let that be the cherry on top of a demo box set.

Its time to let it all out like Soundgarden has been doing the past couple years. No sense in letting it rot.

A hardcore fan talking to Axl: "What's in the vault? What's in the vault?"

#357 Re: The Sunset Strip » Fear the walking dead » 523 weeks ago

Yeah...the teenage characters are wearing on me a bit thin. They either know too much info of the rules or there just flat out douchebags at times. The adult main cast like Cliff Curtis are pretty great so far. I do like the different perspectives of the area and that they show the spreading of the virus or infection in a slow manner. Seeing people's reactions to it since most of them wouldn't think that's it too out of the ordinary just yet. Getting sick of shows having the overly religious stereotypes. Come on producers. Think of something else. tongue I'm sure the show will improve. It just needs to fix some details and character traits.

P.S. You know we could move this discussion to the main Walking Dead thread since the main show doesn't back till October. The next episode for Fear will be on after Labor Day weekend. Which is the case for most running shows.

There was a Swedish one called "Let the right one come in". I'm just translating from the Swedish title so don't know if that's the name in English.

The usual vampire stuff, but pretty well done. Not at all like the American style.

The remake ain't half bad either.

The remake was incredible. The 21st century Natalie Portman got famous from this film.

Still haven't watched the original and hadn't even thought of it until Polluxlm mentioned it. Gonna download it and watch it this week.

That's awesome. Enjoy yourself.

#359 Re: The Sunset Strip » Sonic highways - Foo fighters HBO show » 524 weeks ago

I don't have HBO; but I've been meaning to watch it for awhile now. I'll probably pick up the DVD/Blu-ray of the series and watch it. I liked the Sonic Highways album for the most part. It's not the band's best work; but it had some great cuts on there.
