Yeah I don't get the hate for bon jovi. Just cos axl didn't like some guy calling him that during a bar fight 20 years ago, and that jon makes the occasional jealous 'but I've worked more than axl' type rant..which was more a dig at the media than axl, is no reason to write them off IMHO.

I'm not a huge fan, but as Bono says above, they have some damn catchy hits over the years, deserve a bit of respect.

believe me, i don't need axl 2 fuel my disdain for bon fucking jovi. i'm a big boy n can make my own mind up.

still, it's a sad state of affairs when anyone is going to a bon fucking jovi concert.

Thanks for elaborating.

i remember now exactly what it was that upset me so much about slash's performance (as opposed 2 the fucknuts).
it was when he broke into the Godfather theme then Sweet Child n it was like, come on man even if u were doing this in Guns these days that'd still be hollow, change it up (though axlites shouldn't throw stones in this regard of course). it just seemed so phony. i didn't get off on that part at all.  & then straight after sweet child dropped he started talkin about how well the album's selling & 2 keep buying it, perfect timing.

BUT i will say this, he is quite possibly the best guitarist i've ever seen live - and easily the most entertaining showman on the axe i've seen. 4 Better r 4 worse..

#3608 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash Uk & Ireland Tour » 794 weeks ago

in the cold n slightly more sober light of morning maybe i was a bit extreme.
i was probably the only person at the show who didn't get off or leave happy.
slash played alright. but a lot of his songs are fucking boring. & a lot of it seemed to me to be real bad poseur-rock. it was a bit weird watchin this bar band supporting him considering his Guns history (with two other guitars at one point). a lot of the second half of the show was straight out of 1986, and that's not a good thing. and his top hat looks fuckin crap.

but there was also a lot of other shit going on around me last night which wasn't conducive 2 me having a good time. just people fucking with me, not least fuckin wannabe-pigs security ASSHOLES who hassled me nonstop the whole fuckin night no matter where i turned.
i've been 2 about 20 gigs over the years in that venue n never ever seen so much security & when u get such a herd of those idiots 2gether it's never good. i assume it's due 2 that guy who attacked slash on stage recently but there's still no excuse for these fuckwits on their little power trip 2 be fuckin with punters they way they do.

#3609 Re: Dust N' Bones & Cyborg Slunks » Slash Uk & Ireland Tour » 794 weeks ago

just back from the belfast gig n this guy has 2 be one of the biggest phonies i've ever seen live.
i loved this guy when i was a kid, his riffage on estranged alone changed my life, but 2night was devastingly sad.
fuck this shit.
