I thought Obama already had like $230mil walking into the campaign.
No, he didn't. He raised around $300 million over the course of the Democratic primary, but he spent quite a bit of it.

Pollux, what does CFR stand for? I Googled it and came up with something called the Council on Foreign Relations. Guess who else is a member? John McCain. And actually, Wikipedia does not list Obama as a current (or historical) member. However, the CFR website has a member profile for Obama. Interestingly, Colin Powell and Tom Brokaw are both listed as members. So if Obama, McCain, and Powell are all members, WTF does being loyal to the CFR have to do with it, Pollux? McCain is also involved in it, so it has nothing to do with that.

What an embarrassment for McCain. Apparently Powell ripped he and Palin a new asshole on Meet The Press for their campaign tactics against Obama (portraying him as a terrorist, etc.).

HOLY SHIT. The previous fundraising record was $66 million by Obama in August. 632,000 new donors in September. 3.1 million unique donors during the campaign. Average contribution throughout the campaign is $86. Through August, he had $77 million in cash on hand compared to McCain's $36 million. McCain of course cannot raise money due to being funded by the government (though he is getting help from the RNC, which can fundraise as much as they want). Even with the RNC helping him, he's screwed.

Saikin, this isn't the same as November Rain. November Rain was a long song, but it didn't contain a minute (or longer) intro with no music or words (it has a long intro but it's actual music that draws the listener in). People have insanely short attention spans in this country, ESPECIALLY now due to computers and the Internet. When that song comes on the radio, they'll fucking turn it off before it even gets a chance to impress them.

So, it seems we have a pretty nice majority who want either CD or Better. Those are definitely the 2 best choices of the songs we've heard. CD is a challenge though because the intro is fucking awesome but there's no way you could include that in a single.

I think the real single off the record will be "Better". "If The World" is like YCBM, a song supporting a movie...
YCBM was a single though too. Had a video with the Governator in it and everything. YCBM was a huge hit on the radio. ITW hasn't even been released and likely would not be a big hit anyway even if it was released.

Axl will not reveal why it took so long. The only way he would do that is through a lucrative book deal probably 20 years from now.

I think Better is the one they need and hopefully it's the one they use (unless one of the unheard tracks is just incredible).

True...but then we don't know what the terms of their deal are...for all we know there could be an "Axl Escape Clause" built into their contract that allows Axl to cancel the whole thing the night before the release without any cost to him, or at an agreed price he pays BB for compensation....or anything of the sort. And to do it all legally and by agreement.
Don't get me wrong...i think it's finally happening in November...i'm just saying..at this point the silence from the band is starting to get slightly unnerving...as its the last piece of the jigsaw of hope we need....
As far as I'm concerned, it's really not that big of a deal. I've got 11 out of the 14 tracks on the album and apparently I've got them in the correct order in iTunes (assuming Best Buy's current track list is correct).
