They have gotten it right in 15 of the last 17 elections. The last time they were wrong was 1960.

It's decent. Sounds like all other AC/DC albums although to be honest there aren't any songs that stand out as classics. This one is weaker than Stiff Upper Lip.
It's pretty generic hard rock, which is fine at their age. I wouldn't really expect them to crank out something with a ton of classics on it at this point in their career. It's not really an album I will listen to very often, that's for sure. But I won't delete it either.

If I met Axl in person, I would tell him, "You have a great, unique voice and you're one of the best frontmen ever in a rock band. However, I think you're a lying asshole." And I'm sure he'd agree with my assessment of him.

Totally agree Saikin. I've actually waited to tell friends & family about this (they know i'm a GN'R nut), because i've been burned before.
Finally today, after the SKU's surfaced, I worked up the courage to once again go out on a limb and say "CD is going to be released next month".
I would just feel much better about ALL OF THIS, if GN'R were to put out a press release.
Fuck GN'R. I want something from Best Buy and Universal. Axl has no credibility with me, not after all the stunts he's pulled throughout this mess, including the bullshit "letter" to the fans about it coming out in March 2007.

Well I think it'd depend on the presentation of the artwork.
Say you've got three albums, all with specific color themes, i'm sure within a week the "Chinese Democracy" thing would be out the door, and you'd have people referring to stuff like "The Black Album", "The Red Album", "The Green Album", etc.
It's not 3 different albums though. It's 3 versions of CD.
#3776 Re: Guns N' Roses » Chinese Democracy release date? » 937 weeks ago
There better be a good reason that one version is $13.99 and the other is $19.99.

James Lofton wrote:GNR should offer something unique in the vinyl version which would basically force all hardcores(even those claiming to buy 10 copies when they're buying none) to buy at least one.
Not sure what that would be, but Kala's 1st pressing came with stickers and a bandana, and after that it came with free ringtones.
I'm not buying any vinyl versions, mainly cos I aint got a record player. I'm buying one cd when it comes out and that's the disc I'll listen to, if there's a DVD bonus version I'll buy that, but I'm not buying numerous copies just to sit on my shelf unopened.
Same here. I like the timing of this release. I will ask my parents to buy it for me for my birthday. My birthday is November 26th so it's pretty good timing.

James, it may be time to start mass producing your 2008 hats.
Earlier tonight I confirmed all the rumors that have been swirling around the internet recently. I went into the local FYE at the mall I work at. Asked the guy behind the register if he had heard anything about the new GnR album. He gets this pissy look on his face and says "yeah, but its an exclusive at another store". I ask him if its just stuff he heard from the rumor mill or if its been confirmed by his corporate office. To my amazement, he says "yeah from our corporate offices". He goes to the computer and starts accessing his email system. After a few seconds he finds the email he's looking for. As soon as he did, I basically commandeered the damn computer terminal. The letter was pretty much as follows:
"Guns N' Roses' long awaited album chinese democracy will be coming out this year. Unfortunately for us, it is a Best Buy exclusive. It is set for later part of November, before thanksgiving."
Nice to have some 3rd party confirmation.
Good work dude. Karma for you.

I really wish I had the contacts I used to at Best Buy! Their inventory system is pretty damn easy to use though.
I'm going there tomorrow to buy Casino on Blu-Ray so maybe I'll try to do some digging.
Just a heads up to you, I have Casino on HD DVD and it is a great transfer. Very rich colors and great quality considering it's a 1995 movie.
#3780 Re: The Garden » Lost my job yesterday... » 937 weeks ago
I have some good news to report. I have an interview tomorrow with an oil and gas company for a position that is different from what I've been doing, but definitely good experience regardless. Also, another company keeps sending these Internet-based assessment test things. The first one tested my personality (BS True/False stuff like, "I would not hesitate to tell a supervisor if a co-worker was doing drugs on the job" and other tests of morality) as well as a ridiculous math test that was 30 questions over 7 minutes (I was only able to answer half of them lol). But then they sent me a new test today for Excel and Word. This job that I'm applying for with them is similar to the one I previously had, although a bit easier because it's for a company that does not deal with oil and gas. They only do wind farms so I would only be researching the surface owners rather than the mineral and surface owners like I was with my previous job. So hopefully I have two potential jobs. I'm hoping the interview tomorrow goes well and hopefully I hear back from the other company as well.
